It’s a big day for Jonathan Van Ness‘ husband!

The 34-year-old Queer Eye star and hairdresser took to Instagram on Monday (May 3) to reveal that his husband Mark Peacock got his green card.

“Yay he’s staying @marklondon 💗 Today as a queer person who wouldn’t have been able to marry the person they love just 6 years ago, our rights can’t be taken for granted! So happy to have this process in our rearview 💗 Green Card YAS!” Jonathan wrote.

Along with the sweet message, Jonathan also shared a photo of him and Mark, 35, hugging while in front of a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services building.

If you didn’t know, Mark was born and raised in London, England before moving to the United States. Jonathan and Mark met in London while Jonathan was on his comedy tour.

On New Year’s Eve, Jonathan surprised fans when he announced that he and Mark had secretly gotten married earlier in the year.

Jonathan Van Ness has shared more new photos with husband Mark Peacock after announcing that they got married in a surprise wedding!

The 33-year-old Queer Eye star also opened up about meeting Mark while in London during a comedy tour and taking him home to meet their parents.

“We went on a date in London, which turned into more dates whilst I was on comedy tour. At the end of that time I was taking my mom, aunt & friends on a mini break to Amsterdam. I wanted @marklondon to come with but, was it a bit intense to ask Mark to come after a couple weeks worth’s of dates to come meet my mom & and friends on a mini break? Maybe so, but something about Mark felt different and I’m quite sure he felt the same,” JVN wrote on Instagram along with the new photos.

Jonathan added, “🥰 Here’s some of my favorite moments together and here’s to making many more 🏳️‍🌈 Thanks so much for your support and love for us!! Love y’all!! Note: that address is from a rental that we’ve been out of for months so leave those nice people who live there alone 🤦🏻 and thanks for all your heads up & concern! 💗”

Jonathan Van Ness is married!

The 33-year-old Queer Eye star tied the knot with “best friend” Mark Peacock earlier this year, Jonathan confirmed on Thursday (December 31) on Instagram.

“Thank you universe for allowing me to be here & thanks to everyone who has supported me. 2020 was a year unlike any other. I got to campaign & get more involved politically. I finished my tour in Australia & NZ for what I didn’t know would be my last standup show for who knows how long,” JVN wrote.

“I got married to my best friend & have a loving partner to continue building my life with.”

Jonathan did not tag Mark, but shared a photo of the two on what appeared to be their wedding day.

“I had weekly zoom quizzes with folks I miss all the time @nicolacoughlan & co. I met new friends & learned from them in the most 2020 way possible.. virtually, but these new friends I can’t wait to hug irl @ashleemariepreston, and for all the hardships this year I do think our country is taking steps to heal and as painful as it is I’m hopeful for our future.”

“Last but not least the last time I got to see my mom who I’m so so proud of all she’s done this year & can’t wait to see her again soon. I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy in these coming days 💗🏳️‍🌈,” Jonathan went on to say.

If you missed it, over the weekend, Monty Python star and Harry Potter actor John Cleese made several controversial statements that are being called out as transphobic after he defended JK Rowling, who has also made transphobic statements.

Now, Queer Eye‘s Jonathan Van Ness is publicly calling out Cleese as well.

“Dear @JohnCleese you’ve made several transphobic comments here. You do seem to not only be interested in trans folks, but also adding to transphobia at a time when trans people are being murdered world wide. Trans & non binary people aren’t being treated kindly,” Jonathan posted in a series of tweets at the actor.

He then added, “Instead of worrying about American democracy worry about the transphobia gripping the UK. Worry about the staggering inequality your country faces & keep LGBTQ issues out of your chapped ass lip having mouth unless you due to some miracle become an ally.”

Simone Biles is not happy about a petition in circulation calling for Uber Eats to pull down their commercials featuring her with Jonathan Van Ness.

Launched by the conservative group, One Million Moms, the petition claims that Uber Eats is “attempting to brainwash viewers” by featuring the Queer Eye star.

“Instead of making audiences lose their appetite by glamorizing a LGBTQ lifestyle, Uber Eats should focus on what it does and remain neutral on controversial issues,” the petition reads.

Simone caught wind of the petition and called them out for it.

“The world we live in makes me sad,” she started, adding that she’d “do x1000000 more commercials with you [Jonathan] just to piss everyone off!”

Simone added that all “LGBTQIA will always have my support and feel welcome on my socials.”

Uber Eats also echoed Simone‘s statement about the petition.

“At Uber Eats, we’re unapologetically committed to representing the flavor spectrum,” they shared in a statement to People. “From tacos to talent, we like it spicy. JVN and Simone serve gymnastic prowess and ferosh self-confidence, qualities millions of moms everywhere can—and do—support.”

The Fab Five – Antoni Porowski (Food & Wine), Bobby Berk (Interior Design), Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming), Karamo Brown (Culture) and Tan France (Fashion) – return to Netflix with their fifth season of the hit series on June 5.
