Beauty and the Beast‘s 30th anniversary will be celebrated tonight on ABC with a live-action special starring H.E.R. as Belle and Josh Groban as The Beast!

The star-studded production, which was pre-recorded, will feature a blend of animated footage and live-action performances to pay tribute to the original Disney movie.

The never-before-seen musical performances will feature brand-new sets and breathtaking costumes inspired by the classic story.

The special airs TONIGHT (December 15) at 8pm EST on ABC and will be available for streaming the next day on Disney+.

The stars of ABC’s Beauty And The Beast: A 30th Celebration are ready for the show!

H.E.R. and Josh Groban joined all their co-stars including Martin Short, Rita Moreno, Joshua Henry, David Alan Grier, Rizwan Manji, Jon Jon Briones and Leo Abelo Perry for the premiere held at the Carondelet House in Los Angeles on Tuessday (December 13) – just a few days ahead of the television special.

“I love when there are celebrations of work we’ve had for a long time,” Josh shared with ABC News about bringing the classic animated story to life. “We have a real reason with the 30th.”

He added, “I was 10 years old and I speak for everyone in the cast we’ve loved this since we were kids and we feel very excited to be part of this ambitious, fun celebration of something we all love and hopefully people watching will love it as well.”

H.E.R. added, “I think I’m staying true to who Belle was and I think I’m bringing it out more. She had such a strength and a bravery about her and I really want people to see that in this version.”

The Wonderful World of Disney and ABC presents Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration will air TONIGHT, Thursday, December 15, at 8 p.m. on ABC.

ABC’s upcoming Beauty and The Beast special will be airing in a couple weeks and the network has shared a full cast photo!

H.E.R. and Josh Groban will be playing the title characters in the special alongside a star-studded supporting cast, which includes country music superstar Shania Twain.

The two-hour animated and live-action blended special will pay tribute to the original Disney Animation’s Beauty and the Beast and its legacy by showcasing the fan-favorite movie, along with new memorable musical performances, taking viewers on a magical adventure through the eyes of Belle.

Beauty and The Beast: A 30th Celebration will air on Thursday, December 15 at 8pm on ABC and will be available the next day on Disney+.

Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford are heading to Broadway.

On Tuesday (September 6), Deadline confirmed that the two stars would be leading a new production of the Stephen Sondheim-Hugh Wheeler classic musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

It had previously been reported that Josh and Annaleigh had joined the cast after Ticketmaster leaked the news on Monday.
