Josh Popkin, an amateur comedian who has gained a large following on social media app TikTok, is under investigation by the police after pulling a controversial stunt in a New York City subway car.

The 23-year-old made a video in which he filled a large plastic bin with milk and cereal while riding a northbound 4 train. He then dropped the bin, spilling the contents all over the subway car.

“I got the munchies on the subway today so I pulled out some cereal and started chomping away,” Josh says in the video. “I asked if anyone wanted cereal and that’s when it all fell. Everyone started getting mad at me and this guy was like, ‘I can’t believe this is happening.’ I was like, ‘I can’t believe this is happening again.’”

The MTA tweeted out the video and wrote, “A new low: Pulling a prank on essential workers in the middle of a global pandemic. And making essential workers clean up your mess. Despicable.”

The New York Daily News reports that police are investigating the incident.
