'The Jungle Book' 2016 Cast: Who Voices the Characters?

The new live action version of Disney’s The Jungle Book is in theaters now and it is expected to rule the box office this weekend!

The movie features a star-studded voice cast bringing the animals of the jungle to life alongside newcomer Neel Sethi as Mowgli.

The Jungle Book has been getting stellar reviews and currently has a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Variety is predicting that it will open at number one at the box office with an estimated total of $80 million based on early Friday showings.

'Wonder Woman' Movie Moved Up Three Weeks, Two Additional DC Films Announced

Warner Bros. just announced that they have moved Gal Gadot‘s solo Wonder Woman movie up by three weeks to June 2, 2017.

The film was originally set to open on June 23, 2017. Gal is receiving great reviews for her Wonder Woman debut in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is in theaters now!

In addition, two untitled DC films were announced for October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019. These could be solo movies for any number of DC heroes!

Warner Bros. also announced that Jungle Book: Origins has been moved back a full year from October 6, 2017 to October 19, 2018. This will give the film more than a two year separation between the first Jungle Book movie, which will be released on April 15.

'Jungle Book' Actor & Character Portraits Revealed!

Lupita Nyong’o, Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, Ben Kingsley, Christopher Walken, and Giancarlo Esposito pose with their onscreen Jungle Book characters in these new portraits from the upcoming film!

“She is the protector, the eternal mother,” Lupita said of her character Raksha, a mother wolf. “The word Raksha actually means protection in Hindi. I felt really connected to that, wanting to protect a son that isn’t originally hers but one she’s taken for her own.”

Idris portrays the tiger Shere Khan. “Shere Khan reigns with fear,” Idris said. “He terrorizes everyone he encounters because he comes from a place of fear.”

Check out the film, in theaters on April 15, 2016.

Lupita Nyong'o & Scarlett Johansson In Talks for Disney's 'Jungle Book'!

Lupita Nyong’o and Scarlett Johansson are in talks to join the cast of the upcoming live-action/CGI hybrid movie The Jungle Book, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The ladies are in middle of negotiations and would join the already cast Idris Elba, who will voice the role of the man-eating tiger Shere Khan.

Lupita‘s role would by Rakcha, the mother wolf who adopts Mowgli, while Scarlett would voice the character Kaa, a python who eats other animals by hypnotizing them.

Jon Favreau is set to direct the movie and the role of Mowgli has yet to be cast.
