Greta Gerwig stars in two major films this season that take her back to the ’60s and ’70s – Jackie and 20th Century Women — but she’s certainly glad she didn’t have to live in those time periods.
“I love learning about the ’60s and ’70s and all that went on during that period, but I’m also glad I wasn’t living in a world when the expectation is I get married and shut the f**k up,” the 33-year-old recently told the LA Times.

“A complete coincidence. I did them back to back — 20th Century Women first and then Jackie, that way I was going backwards in time,” Greta added. “Interestingly, both films were about strong women but what a dichotomy. I mean, just look how different the women looked and acted in these periods and they’re only 15 years apart. It’s amazing how much the expectations for women changed in those few years.”
Last night (December 7), Greta got all glammed up to join Kate Mara and Fan Bingbing at the De Beers Flagship Store Opening on Madison in New York City.
FYI: Greta is wearing a Rosetta Getty dress. All three ladies rocked De Beers creations.
