Duchess Kate Middleton's Mom Skills Observed By Onlooker at Polo Field

Duchess Kate Middleton and her kids, Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3, were photographed playing at the polo field over the weekend while dad Prince William took part in a match.

Kate is a fantastic mum,” an onlooker described to People. “She was calm with the children….She let them have their head.” (Which means she let them run loose.)

The onlooker described one moment where the Duchess had some fun with the kids. “She seemed to say to [the kids], ‘First to the polo field is the winner!’ She was trying to get them tired before they had to get back in the car to leave.”

The observer also said that the Duchess “didn’t get stressed about [photographers being all around], or pass that along to the children. She let them play. She let them get on with it, sliding down the hill and rolling on the grass.”

Here's Why Meghan Markle Was Not Front & Center at Balcony Debut

Many wondered why Duchess Meghan Markle looked like she was standing in the background on the balcony at the Trooping the Colour ceremony over the weekend, which marked her royal balcony debut.

“She was not as prominent perhaps as some people might have expected, but there’s a pecking order,” Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty magazine, told People. “There was no slight intended, but William being the older, more senior brother would go out [first] with his wife [Duchess Kate].”

“[Meghan] was still in a good position. She was central rather than the alternative of being in the front row and along the balcony to the left or right,” he added.

In addition, a palace source told the publication, where the Duchess stood “would have come from her. There’s no one laying this out, telling her where to stand. And there were a lot of kids who everyone would want at the front.”
