Kellie Pickler shows off her newly shaved head at the 6th Annual ACM Honors held at the Ryman Auditorium on Monday (September 24) in Nashville, Tenn.

The 26-year-old singer hit the stage to perform a cover of Tammy Wynette‘s “Stand By Your Man” in tribute to the song’s co-writer and producer Billy Sherrill.

Kellie shaved her head in support of her pal Summer Holt Miller, 36, who was diagnosed with breast cancer back in June.

Kellie Pickler has shaved her head in support of her pal Summer Holt Miller, 36, who was diagnosed with breast cancer back in June.

The 26-year-old singer appeared in a clip on Good Morning America with Summer, where the two shaved their heads together.

“Be sure to watch Good Morning America tomorrow morning (Sept 5th). You won’t want to miss this!!! ;) ” Kellie tweeted. “It’s been a great life-changing day.”

“Cancer does not discriminate,” Kellie said in a statement.

“If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it,” Summer also said.

The trio answered phones during the event, accepting donations for the American Red Cross, which will help those affected by the recent storms, floods, and tornadoes.

The special 90-minute concert featured performances by Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, and more.
