Henry Golding, Saweetie & More Step Out For See Us Unite For Change Event

Henry Golding shows off his charming smile while arriving at the See Us Unite for Change – The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) in service of the AAPI Community Broadcast in Los Angeles on Friday (May 21).

The 34-year-old Snake Eyes actor was joined by Ken Jeong, James Hong and Minari star Alan S. Kim.

The event also featured performances from Saweetie and Black Eyed Peas.

The See Us Unite for Change global special is part of the See Us Unite cultural campaign, a multi-platform effort led by The Asian American Foundation (TAAF). “Despite these difficult times for our community, the formation of TAAF and their bold work on the See Us Unite campaign represent the best of what can emerge when we share a collective resolve for change,” Daniel Dae Kim, co-chair of the TAAF Advisory Council, shared in a statement. “They’re both great signs for our future.”

The special will air on MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, as well as BET and Nickelodeon. It will also stream exclusively on Facebook Watch.

Ken Jeong Makes Sizable Donations To Families Of Atlanta Shooting Victims

Ken Jeong is opening up his heart and has donated a big amount of money to the families that were affected by the recent Atlanta shootings that claimed the lives of many Asian women.

It’s reported that The Masked Singer judge donated a total of $50,000 to the families of victims.

Ken has contributed $10,000 each to the GoFundMe campaigns for the families of Soon Chung Park, Hyun Jung Grant, Suncha Kim, Xiaojie Tan, and Yong Yue.

The night before, Ken appeared on Last Night with Seth Meyers, and got serious about the racist rhetoric has affected the Asian community.

“This is precisely due to weaponizing terms like ‘China virus’ and ‘kung flu,’” he said, referring to the terms once said by former President, Donald Trump.

Ken went on, referencing the Atlanta shootings: “Also the fact that, in this particular crime, there’s debate whether this crime is racially motivated. Asian American women are two times as likely to be assaulted in America. This was clearly, clearly racially motivated. This was clearly a hate crime.”

“As a guy who used to be a doctor and whose wife is still practicing medicine, I have an idea of how to solve COVID. It’s mask, vaccination, common sense, don’t be an asshole,” he added. “But as a human, I don’t know how to solve racism. It takes listening, learning, loving, being tolerant. But it really starts off, in our particular case as Asian Americans, this ‘kung flu’ shit has to stop. And we really need to express that loudly. And we are.”

'Tom & Jerry' Scores Second Biggest Box Office Opening Since the Start of Pandemic

Tom & Jerry is No. 1!

The live-action/CGI hybrid just notched the second-best domestic opening of the entire pandemic as of Sunday (February 28), according to THR.

The movie brought in $13.7 million from 2,475 theaters and a global total of $38.8 million through Sunday, the outlet reported.

The opening marks the second-best three-day launch of the pandemic behind fellow Warner Bros. release Wonder Woman 1984 ($16.7 million) amid theater re-openings around the country.

“The strong debut of the family pic — by COVID-19 terms— is a good sign for Hollywood as New York City theaters prepare to open on March 5 (Los Angeles). It’s also a win, at least in the short term, for Warners’ policy of opening its 2021 titles simultaneously in theaters on HBO Max,” THR reported, adding that roughly half of the country’s theaters are still closed.

Chloe Moretz, Michael Pena, Colin Jost, Rob Delaney, and Ken Jeong star in the new film.

Find out which movie is on the way to becoming the highest-grossing of the pandemic.

'Tom & Jerry' Movie Is a Surprise Box Office Hit on Opening Weekend!

The new movie Tom & Jerry is now in theaters and it’s going to be a surprise box office hit for Warner Bros.

In addition to being in theaters, the movie is available to stream at home on HBO Max at no extra charge to subscribers.

50% of all movie theaters in the U.S. are still closed due to the pandemic, including major markets like New York and Los Angeles, so no movies are expected to be doing major business right now. The theaters that are open also have to adhere to capacity restrictions.

Deadline reports that Tom & Jerry earned $4 million on Friday (February 26) and the film is expected to gross $12.5 million for the full opening weekend. That will be the second highest weekend gross during the pandemic, behind only Wonder Woman 1984‘s $16.4 million opening weekend.

These numbers are giving industry insiders some hope that the box office will be able to recover once the pandemic is over.

Chloe Moretz, Michael Pena, Colin Jost, Rob Delaney, and Ken Jeong star in the new film.
