FX has just announced that Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys‘ show The Americans will return for two more seasons and end in 2018.
The 2017 season will consist of 13 episodes, while the 2018 season will consist of 10 final episodes.
“Through its first four seasons, critics have lauded ‘The Americans’ as one of the best shows on television and, remarkably, a series that keeps getting better every year,” FX original programming president Eric Schrier said (via Variety). “All credit for that achievement goes to everyone who has worked on the show, and especially co-showrunners Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields, Graham Yost, our brilliant stars Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, Noah Emmerich, Allison Wright, Holly Taylor, Annet Mahendru and the ensemble cast for their incomparable performances every season. We have no doubt that this two-season order will allow Joe and Joel to tell this story to its perfect conclusion. On behalf of our producing partners at Fox 21 Television Studios and Amblin TV, we look forward to a brilliant final act of the Jennings family saga.”
During Henry‘s turn, he referenced his role as Superman in the anticipated Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
“Hey, little Henry. Your life is going to be filled with so much joy and happiness, but when you turn my age, your biggest dream will come true. You finally get to be in a Batman movie,” Henry, 32, expressed. “You know how you have all those Batman posters in your bedroom and how you run around pretending to Batman and always say, ‘Batman rules! He could be any other superhero in a fight, hands down. It shouldn’t even be a question!’ Well, Henry, this movie has it all. The Batsuit, the car and all the cool gadgets. As for your part in the film, I think it’s best we wait until you’re old enough to handle it.”

Keri Russell is all smiles while running some errands around town on Friday (January 22) in New York City.
It was recently revealed how the 39-year-old pregnant actress first got cast on her hit show The Americans.
“I was in a room with John Landgraf, the president of [FX] and five other people, and a list of the 100 best-known television and some film actresses in Hollywood, who were in a certain age range. Everyone was studying the list, and John went, ‘Keri Russell,’” executive producer Joe Weisberg said (via Vulture).
He continued, “John had this intuition that she had played such a 100 percent different type [and] that it would be incredibly fascinating and rich to have her move in an entirely different direction.”
FYI: Keri is wearing Vans shoes.
