Kesha No Longer Performing at Billboard Music Awards 2016, Dr Luke's Label Rescinds Approval

After reports Kesha would be performing at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 22), Dr. Luke‘s label Kemosabe will no longer allow her to take the stage.

Kesha accepted an invitation to perform on the show and she received written approval from Dr. Luke‘s record label, Kemosabe Records. Kemosabe subsequently rescinded its approval following a media report on Wednesday May 11 regarding Kesha’s appearance on the BBMAs. Unfortunately, Kesha and Kemosabe have since been unable to come to an agreement for Kesha to perform on the show,” Dick Clark Productions said in a statement (via Billboard).

Kesha has been in an ongoing battle with Dr. Luke to be freed from her Sony contract. Kesha has accused Dr. Luke of sexual abuse, but the courts have been siding with Sony.

Kesha is firing back at the critics on her social media in a series of photos.

“I have been battling depression and an eating disorder for a while now. my career is in a strange place and it feels like I’m fighting an uphill fight some days. but I have decided to take my life back. my freedom. my happiness. my voice. my worth. I will not just f*cking be quiet and hide. today I will say f-ck it and live. So F-CK it. today I’m making that choice. AND IM HAPPY AS A DAMN CLAM. and also a big ol f-ck u if u wanna hate on my body. just remember that makes u look like a dickhead” Kesha wrote on her Instagram account.

Kesha Performs Lady Gaga's 'Til It Happens To You,' Gaga Responds on Twitter

Kesha performed Lady Gaga‘s emotionally charged song “Til It Happens to You” on Saturday evening (May 7) at The Humane Society of the United States’ to the Rescue Gala in Hollywood.

After Kesha‘s full performance of the song debuted online, Lady Gaga took to Twitter to praise her friend, who has been battling Sony to release her from her contract with Dr. Luke after allegations of sexual assault.

“Killed it @KeshaRose. I could feel your pain. Girl these boys won’t be in charge forever. The wisdom of women is rising. Let’s get louder,” Lady Gaga tweeted.

Kesha & Steven Tyler Perform at Humane Society Gala

Kesha grabs a photo with Steven Tyler at the The Humane Society of the United States’ to the Rescue Gala on Saturday (May 7) at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.

The 29-year-old singer and 68-year-old rockstar both performed at the gala in support of the animal charity.

They were joined at the event by fellow performer Leona Lewis, Kate Mara, Riley Keough, Priscilla Presley, Jhene Aiko and Laura Vandervoort.

Kesha Thanks Her Supporters: 'You Have Successfully Changed My Life'

Kesha and her boyfriend Brad Ashenfelter go for a bike ride together on Sunday (May 1) in Los Angeles.

The 29-year-old singer recently wrote an amazing note of thanks to all of her supporters over the past several months after her legal battle with Sony.

Dr Luke Responds to Zedd & Kesha's Collaboration 'True Colors' - Read the Tweet

Zedd and Kesha announced they are in the studio and recording “True Colors” together, which will be released on Friday (April 29).

If you didn’t know, Kesha and Dr. Luke have been in a legal battle as she has repeatedly tried to get out of her Sony contract, citing sexual abuse at the hands of the producer. Zedd took to Twitter to explain that he and Kesha are not illegally releasing the song.

“Just to clarify: We didn’t use any loop holes. Kemosabe / RCA gave us permission to release this song!” Zedd wrote. Later, Dr. Luke responded, “Thanks for the clarification @Zedd …”
