Anthony Rapp Explains Why He Came Forward with Kevin Spacey Story

Anthony Rapp is opening up about his decision to come forward with his story about Kevin Spacey allegedly making a sexual advance toward him when he was just a teenager.

The 46-year-old actor, best known for originating the role of Mark in Rent and starring in Star Trek: Discovery, alleged that Spacey tried to seduce him when they were alone in his apartment after a party in 1986.

“I came forward with my story, standing on the shoulders of the many courageous women and men who have been speaking out, to shine a light and hopefully make a difference, as they have done for me,” Anthony said in a statement to People. “Everything I wanted to say about my experience is in that [BuzzFeed] article, and I have no further comment about it at this time.”

Spacey released a public apology on Sunday night and he also came out as gay at the same time, which caused outrage on social media.

'Family Guy' Made a Kevin Spacey Joke Years Before Allegations

Family Guy made an eerie Kevin Spacey joke years before the sexual misconduct allegations.

In a 2005 episode of the show, character Stewie Griffin, a talking 1-year-old baby, claims he was being held in Kevin‘s basement.

“Help! I’ve escaped from Kevin Spacey‘s basement!” Stewie yells while running through a store without clothes on.

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane has not yet spoke out about the joke but it’s not the first time he’s hinted at misconduct.

Back in 2013, he hinted at Harvey Weinstein‘s inappropriate behavoir when introducing the nominees for best-supporting actress at the Oscars.

Netflix Is 'Deeply Troubled' By Kevin Spacey Allegations

Netflix has released a statement in response to the allegations made against House of CardsKevin Spacey by Anthony Rapp regarding sexual misconduct years ago when Anthony was only 14.

“Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey,” Netflix and House of Cards producer Media Rights Capital said in a statement (via Variety). “In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.”

House of Cards was officially cancelled by Netflix earlier today.

Kevin since apologized, but his apology statement caused much controversy because he chose to come out as gay at the same time.

'House of Cards' Ending with Sixth & Final Season

Netflix’s hit show House of Cards will be ending after six seasons.

The final 13 episodes will air in 2018, THR reports. News of the show’s end comes mere hours after the show’s star, Kevin Spacey, has been accused of sexual misconduct by Anthony Rapp. Anthony said that Kevin tried to come onto him when he was only 14.

Kevin responded to Anthony‘s reveal with an apology and he also came out as gay.

It’s unclear if Netflix’s decision to end the show was already planned, or if the decision was made after Kevin‘s misconduct allegations came to light.
