Check out the brand new trailer and poster for Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower‘s upcoming movie The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones!

Here is the film’s synopsis: Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After the disappearance of her mother (Lena Headey), Clary must join forces with a group of Shadowhunters, who introduce her to a dangerous alternate New York called Downworld, filled with demons, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and other deadly creatures.

The film, which will hit theaters on August 23, 2013, also stars Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Kevin Zegers, Jemima West, Robert Sheehan, Jared Harris, and Kevin Durand.

The 28-year-old actor’s miniseries Titanic: Blood and Steel airs tonight on Encore at 8pm!

“I really liked the script in general,” Kevin has said about choosing to do the series. “Besides the fact that people obviously have an interest in the Titanic, the thing that interested me is that most of the people making it were all the same people who made The Tudors, and that was something I had really enjoyed watching and was very character-driven.”

The miniseries is a twelve-part adventure about the building of the famous ship Titanic, which sunk on its first voyage back in 1912. The show runs every night, starting tonight at 8pm, through Saturday, so be sure to tune in!

The 27-year-old actor was covered in runes, which are letters that are part of the runic alphabets used to write various Germanic languages before the adoption of the Latin alphabet and for specialized purposes.

On Friday, Kevin tweeted, “Back to set. Gotta say, this is a lot of fun.”

Last week, Kevin was spotted in character, along with his costars Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Jemima West.

The 23-year-old actress and her 23-year-old rumored real-life boyfriend were joined on set by their co-stars Kevin Zegers and Jemima West, who are playing the Lightwood siblings in the film.

The story follows Clary Fray (Collins), a seemingly ordinary teenage girl, who finds out the truths about her past and bloodline after her mom (Lena Headey) is attacked and taken from their home in New York City by a demon. Her entire life is changed on her quest to get her mom back.

Kevin Zegers has booked a leading role in the highly anticipated film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, JustJared.com can exclusively reveal!

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is based on the first book in the best-selling series by Cassandra Clare. The story follows Clary Fray (Lily Collins), a seemingly ordinary teenage girl, who finds out the truths about her past and bloodline after her mom is attacked and taken from their home in New York City by a demon. Her entire life is changed on her quest to get her mom back.

Kevin, 27, will play Alec Lightwood, the gay brother of Isabelle (Jemima West). He is in love with Jace (Jamie Campbell Bower) and dislikes Clary because Jace is in love with her and not him. The film is scheduled to be released on August 23, 2013.

Kevin most recently starred in the ABC mini-series Titanic: Blood and Steel. He has had a recurring role on Gossip Girl and also starred in the films Transamerica and The Jane Austen Book Club.
