The new trailer for Joey King‘s upcoming horror movie Wish Upon has been released and things turn deadly when she starts making wishes!

The film is about a 17-year-old girl named Clare (King) who is bullied in high school, embarrassed by her manic, hoarder father Jonathan (Ryan Phillippe) and ignored by her longtime crush. All that changes when her father comes home with an old music box whose inscription promises to grant its owner seven wishes.

While Clare is initially skeptical of this magic box, she can’t help but be seduced by its dark powers, and is thrilled as her life radically improves with each wish. Clare finally has the life she’s always wanted and everything seems perfect – until the people closest to her begin dying in violent and elaborate ways after each wish. Clare realizes that she must get rid of the box, but finds herself unable and unwilling to part with her new-and-improved life – leading her down a dark and dangerous path.

The movie is hitting theaters on July 14!

Wish Upon just debuted the first trailer for the upcoming horror flick!

The film, which stars Joey King and Ryan Phillippe, follows high schooler Clare Shannon as she deals with bullies, her hoarder father and the aftermath of her mother’s suicide.

Things quickly change when she discovers a mystical music box that promises to fulfill seven wishes. Even as Clare watches in horror as her wants have deadly consequences, she’s desperate to hold onto her new life and power.

The movie also features Stranger Things star Shannon Purser, Alice Lee, Ki Hong Lee, Sydney Park, Mitchell Slaggert, and Sherilyn Fenn.

Kaya Scodelario pulls up her hair into a high bun for the premiere of Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials held at Regal E-Walk in New York City on Tuesday night (September 15).

The 23-year-old actress joined co-stars Katherine McNamara, Dylan O’Brien, Alexander Flores, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Rosa Salazar, and Ki Hong Lee on the red carpet.

Patricia Clarkson, Giancarlo Esposito, Chris Sheffield, Dexter Darden, director Wes Ball and Teen Wolf actor Cody Saintgnue were also spotted at the event.

“#ScorchTrials @mazerunnermovie premiere last night! I cannot even begin to express my elation and gratitude in being a part of this film,” Katherine wrote on Instagram afterwards.

She added, “Last night with everyone was so special. I’m so proud of everyone’s dedication, passion, and hard work. The love put into this project is apparent on screen – I cannot wait to share it with all of you. I’m #readyforscorch – are you?”

The cast is also pictured at the AOL BUILD Speaker Series earlier in the day.

The 23-year-old actor, Ki Hong Lee, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Giancarlo Esposito, Rosa Salazar, author James Dashner and director Wes Ball talked up the new movie before debuting a brand new trailer.

“For me Thomas is kind of angry…” Dylan shared with the audience. “At the end of the first film he’s just crushed with this guilt, losing one special friend in particular, knowing he didn’t lead people to the right place, it’s going to weigh on him.”

Later on, Dylan headed to the Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con 2015 Party held at FLOAT at The Hard Rock Hotel where he hung out with Tyler Posey.
