James Van Der Beek is reflecting on his wife Kimberly suffering two pregnancy losses.
On Friday (August 19), the 45-year-old Dawson’s Creek actor took to social media to share a post about “healing” while sharing some family photos from two separate road trips to the same place.
The first photo was taken shortly after Kimberly‘s first miscarriage, which took place in November 2019, and the second photo was taken earlier this month.

James Van Der Beek and wife Kimberly are new parents once again!
The 44-year-old actor revealed the happy news to fans in a cute Instagram post, showing off his newborn son, Jeremiah.
“Humbled and overjoyed to announce the safe, happy arrival of Jeremiah Van Der Beek ❤️,” James captioned in the video and picture slideshow.
He added that after he and Kimberly had experienced “late-term #pregnancyloss twice in a row (both at 17+ weeks), we kept this one quiet. Truthfully, I was terrified when I found out.”
“But we found a doctor here in Texas who diagnosed the last two as having been caused by an: ‘incompetent cervix’ (I asked him what kind of misogynistic old dude invented that term and he laughed – which made me like him even more. Now it’s called a #WeakenedCervix),” James continued. “A simple surgical cerclage was done, removed at full-term, @vanderkimberly gave birth naturally on the ranch… and here we are. The medical books say to only look at a cerclage as an option after three late-term losses. Our doctor recommends considering it after one. Spread the word.”
“Each child brings their own energy, their own manifestation of consciousness, their own lessons. The ones we lost each gifted us with different pieces of the puzzle… leaving us that much more grateful for the ongoing master class we get to enjoy with this sweet, wise little one.”
James and Kimberly are also parents to Olivia, 11, Joshua, 9, Annabel, 7, Emilia, 5, and Gwendolyn, 3.
The family moved to Texas during the pandemic.
One of James Van Der Beek‘s daughters is on the mend after a little accident.
The 43-year-old Dawson’s Creek actor’s wife Kimberly took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday (February 24) to reveal that their daughter Emilia, 4, had to be rushed to the hospital after hitting her head on a table.
“Emilia hit her head on a table. Needed to be glued…” Kimberly, 38, wrote along with a photo of a medical professional looking at Emilia‘s head in the ER.
“Not terrible but not an air heal situation,” Kimberly wrote while sharing a close-up of Emilia‘s injury.
Kimberly added, “She breathed through it all and the doctors and nurses here have had a 💯 percent success rate with us of handling situations with fully informed decision offerings, friendliness and care.”
She also added that Emilia and her sibling “were scared and immediately comforted and commented out the door how ‘amazing’ they were.”
Emilia is one of five children for James and Kimberly, who are also parents to Olivia, 10, Joshua, 8½, Annabel, 7, and Gwendolyn, 2.
Last year, the Van Der Beek family decided to say goodbye to Los Angeles and made the move to this state!

Kimberly Van Der Beek has reflected on her two miscarriages during a recent Instagram Live.
The 38-year-old wife of James Van Der Beek opened up about suffering the miscarriages at just 17 weeks along, the first time late last year, and the following one just this spring.
“I was told I was gonna have the [first] miscarriage a few minutes before it happened; I was told I was gonna have to go to the hospital a few minutes before they had to make a decision,” she shared in her video.
Kimberly went on, revealing that she had buried both of her unborn sons in a “mama plant,” which is a passion-fruit vine that she had recently procured.
“So we have two fetuses in our mama plant, and we named them John and Zachariah,” she says. “And so John and Zachariah are buried in the mama plant, and I decided today to have an artist make some sort of wood structure that I’ll put the mama plant in the earth [underneath], and so she can grow up around it.”
Kimberly continued on, “The cool thing is I had this whole spiritual awakening that happened and the next day, mama plant had her first flower. It was really wild.”
The couple share five children together – Olivia, Joshua, Annabel, Emilia and Gwendolyn.
James and Kimberly just recently moved from Los Angeles to Texas and opened up about the reason why.
Kimberly Van Der Beek is thanking fans for all the love after she and her husband James revealed they suffered a miscarriage.
The 37-year-old actress took to her Instagram story speak out about the unfortunate situation and James‘ elimination from Dancing With The Stars.
“Thank you everyone for all the love…In 48 hours we lost our baby, a boy, and I almost lost my life, which is not a story that has been told. But at some point I can dig into the details about what happened in the emergency room,” Kimberly explained.
She added, “And James got eliminated from Dancing With The Stars. I’m pretty shocked. It is worth noting that Ally [Brooke] is a beautiful dancer and we love her…and she tried to giver her spot to James, she tried quitting the show. Little angel!”
Our thoughts continue to be with Kimberly and James during this difficult time.

In a touching clip, the couple revealed that they’re expecting baby number six during an ultrasound appointment with their children.
James also took to his Instagram to share good news and open up about why they decided to share it on TV.
“Thrilled beyond belief to announce that another little bundle of joy has picked us to be their family. We chose to have our first ultrasound on camera with our #DWTS crew capturing the result – something I NEVER thought we’d ever do… but @vanderkimberly and I have been through three of those first appointments to discover either no heartbeat, or no baby, and she wanted to share this moment,” James wrote.
He added, “Miscarriage (a word that needs a replacement – nobody failed to “carry”, these things sometimes just happen) is something that people rarely talk about, and often go through in secret. But there needs to be zero shame around it, or around giving yourself the time and space to grieve. We decided to put ourselves out there – not knowing what we’d find – in an effort to chip away at any senseless stigma around this experience and to encourage people who might be going through it to open themselves up to love & support from friends and family when they need it most. Happily, for us – this time- we walked out with tears of joy.”
James and Kimberly are already parents to five children: Olivia, 9, Joshua, 7, Annabel, 5, Emilia, 3, and Gwendolyn, 14 months.
