Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s CW show, Ringer, has been picked up for a full season!

The drama “opened to 2.8 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic – the CW’s largest audience in its Tuesday at 9 p.m. slot in three years,” according to THR.

Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd, and Kristoffer Polaha co-star on the show, which centers around Bridget, a young woman on the run from the mob who poses as her twin sister Siobhan.

Sarah Michelle Gellar hits the red carpet at the CBS, CW, and Showtime Party held at The Pagoda on Wednesday (August 3) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 34-year-old actress was joined at the bash by her Ringer co-stars, Ioan Gruffudd, Nestor Carbonell, Kristoffer Polaha, and Mike Colter.

The next day, SMG spoke at a CW panel during the 2011 Summer TCA Tour, where she confirmed she’s doing a guest spot on All My Children!

“When I heard that the show was canceled I didn’t understand. It just doesn’t make sense to me. So, I called Judy Wilson, who is the casting director and has been since I was there, and I said I wanted to do something,” Sarah, who was on the soap opera from 1993 to 1995, shared.

“I was very specific – I don’t want to be [my old character] Kendall; that’s Alicia [Minshew]‘s role,” she added. “But I just wanted to be a part of it. I have no idea what I’m going to do, so we can take suggestions, but I will be doing one day. I’m excited.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar promotes her new show, Ringer, during Comic-Con 2011 on Thursday (July 21) in San Diego, Calif.

The 34-year-old actress was joined by co-stars Ioan Gruffudd, Nestor Carbonell, and Kristoffer Polaha.

“I knew I wanted to come back to television,” Sarah said during a panel at the annual convention, where the cast also unveiled another sneak peek of the series.

Kristoffer Polaha is set to star opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar in CBS’ new pilot, Ringer!

The 34-year-old actor was most recently seen in Life Unexpected, which still hasn’t officially been canceled yet.

Here’s TVLine‘s synopsis of the show: “Gellar stars as Bridget, a troubled young woman who, while on the run from the mob, hides out by inhabiting the life of her rich wealthy twin sister, Siobhan. The twist? There’s a bounty on her sis’ head, too!

“Polaha plays Henry, the out-of-work husband of Siobhan’s BFF (Tara Summers) who also happens to be having an affair with Siobhan. Unaware that Bridget has taken over Siobhan’s identity, Henry becomes hurt and confused by her lukewarm behavior and demands that she choose between him and her husband Andrew (Fantastic Four’s Ioan Gruffudd).”

Life Unexpected will end its second season with a two-hour finale on Tuesday (January 18th) at 8pm ET on the CW Network.

The show is about a 15-year-old foster child who finds her birth parents and is put in their custody.

The DVD box set of the first and second seasons of the show will be released on April 5th.

While the set was originally supposed to be called “The Complete Series,” it was changed to “The First and Second Seasons,” which gives hope for another season.

Kristoffer Polaha and his wife have welcomed their third child!

The 33-year-old Life Unexpected actor and his wife, actress Julianne Morris, became the proud parents of a newborn baby boy on Sunday morning (January 2).

Kris and Julianne‘s newborn will join big brothers Caleb, 6, and Michah, 4.

Kris and Julianne tied the knot back in 2003.

E! Online was the first to report the happy news.
