Laura Benanti has made her return to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to reprise her role as First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.

The Tony-winning actress, who is currently starring on Broadway in the play Meteor Shower, appeared on the Thursday (November 30) episode.

Laura, as Melania, did the interview from the Christmas-decorated “White House” and she opened up about Ivana Trump‘s remarks about her.

“They did not affect me, Stephen,” she said. “In fact, I want to let Mrs. Trump know that I have tremendous admiration and respect for Ivanka.”

Amy Schumer is currently appearing on Broadway in the new comedy Meteor Shower and the first photos from the production have been released ahead of Wednesday night’s official opening!

The actress and comedian is starring opposite Tony winner Laura Benanti, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jeremy Shamos in the play, written by Steve Martin.

Here is a synopsis: “It’s a hot night in Ojai, California, and Corky (Schumer) and her husband Norm (Shamos) are having another couple over for dinner. But Laura (Benanti) and Gerald (Key) aren’t looking for a casual evening of polite small talk with new friends. Eventually, the two couples find themselves in a marital free-fall matched in velocity and peril only by the smoldering space rocks tearing through the sky.”

Laura Benanti is leaving Supergirl after two seasons with the show.

The Tony-winning actress will be replaced by Erica Durance, best known for playing Lois Lane on Smallville. She will play Alura, the mother of Melissa Benoist‘s Supergirl.

“Unfortunately Laura, who Greg [Berlanti] and I have worked with for years going back to Eli Stone, was unable to continue in the role due to work commitments in New York,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement (via THR).

“But we are so blessed that Erica has come aboard to offer her own interpretation of Kara’s mother. We had tremendous success with a former Lois Lane last season with Teri Hatcher. We know Erica will continue the proud tradition of legacy actors joining our shows and creating new and exciting takes on classic DC characters,” he added.

Laura Benanti and her husband Patrick Brown have officially debuted their newborn baby girl Ella Rose!

The one-month-old beautiful baby girl was born on Valentine’s Day at Mt. Sinai West with the Midwifery of Manhattan, New York City. She weighed in at 7 lbs., 12 oz., and was 22 inches long at birth.

Valentine’s Day is a very special day for Laura, who has starred on Broadway in numerous roles, as well as on Supergirl and Nashville. Her father, Sal, was also born on Valentine’s Day!

Laura Benanti has become a mom!

The 37-year-old Tony-winning actress and her husband Patrick Brown have welcomed a baby girl into the world. She gave birth to a Valentine’s Day baby on Tuesday (February 14).

“Laura gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby girl at 3:33pm eastern this afternoon,” her rep told JustJared.com in a statement.

The couple named the baby Ella Rose!

In addition to her work on Supergirl, Laura has appeared on Nashville and NBC’s The Sound of Music Live. She is a Broadway veteran and most recently starred in the musical She Loves Me.

Supergirl actress and Broadway star Laura Benanti is back with her amazing Melania Trump impression, who she parodied on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday (October 18).

Stephen asked “Melania” about Donald Trump‘s locker room talk, to which she responded, “He explained it was locker room talk. I did not know this, but when American men gather to sport, they always brag of grabbing women by the Billy Bush.”

He also asked if she had forgiven Donald for his lewd language, and the answer is very funny.

If you didn’t know, Melania gave interviews for the first time this week since Donald‘s offensive language became public.
