Cynthia Erivo and Jane Krakowski win big at the 2016 Drama Desk Awards held at Anita’s Way on Sunday (June 5) in New York City.

Cynthia, who stars in The Color Purple revival, won for Outstanding Actress in a Musical, while Jane, who stars in She Loves Me, won for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical.

Also winning big that evening were Fiddler on the Roof‘s Danny Burstein and Waitress‘ Christopher Fitzgerald for their roles in their respective musicals.

Other musical theater actors in attendance included She Loves Me cast members Laura Benanti, Zachary Levi, and Nicholas Barasch, Waitress composer and lyricist Sara Bareilles and star of the show Jessie Mueller, Bright Star‘s Carmen Cusack and AJ Shivley, The Color Purple‘s Danielle Brooks, and Broadway stars Khris Davis, Montego Glover and Laura Osnes.

Benjamin Walker suits up on the red carpet at the opening night after party for Broadway’s American Psycho the Musical on Thursday (April 21) at Stage 48 in New York City.

The 33-year-old actor was joined by his co-stars Jennifer Damiano, Helene Yorke, and Alice Ripley at the event.

Some of the stars that stepped out to see the show that night included Bryan Cranston, Christian Slater, Glee‘s Jenna Ushkowitz, Looking‘s Raul Castillo, Smash‘s Krysta Rodriguez, and Broadway star Laura Osnes with her husband Nathan Johnson.

Benjamin‘s wife, actress Kaya Scodelario, was in the audience for the opening, though she didn’t pose for photos.

Aaron spun off from the show tunes theme for a little bit and performed his cover of Taylor Swift‘s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

Darren Criss has some exciting news – he is launching Elsie Fest, a one-day outdoor music festival celebrating showtunes!

The 28-year-old former Glee actor, who just finished a run on Broadway in the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, will be joined on stage at the festival by Aaron Tveit, Tony nominee Laura Osnes, Hamilton‘s Leslie Odom Jr., Broadway legend Lea Salonga, Chicago-based musical theater company StarKid, and more!

“I was at Coachella and thought ‘let’s do this for show tunes,’” Darren said in a statement. “Theater has been going through a wonderful shift in the past few years, from the type of work that’s being produced to the way it’s being consumed by the public. It’s more than showtunes on Broadway — it’s songs from film, TV and YouTube. Since the rules were already changing, I figured, why not shake up people’s ideas of where to watch the performers they love. Enter Elsie.”

Elsie Fest will take place on Sunday, September 27 at JBL Live at Pier 97 in New York City. Tickets go on sale TOMORROW (August 21) at 9am EST on Ticketmaster.
