Lauren Cohan is officially set to return to The Walking Dead as Maggie Greene for the upcoming 11th season!

The 37-year-old actress left the show during season nine and she won’t appear in the 10th season, which premieres this weekend.

AMC just announced that the show has been renewed for the 11th season.

“The Walking Dead burst out of the gate 10 years ago as a genre show that had all the character depth of a top-tier prestige drama,” AMC president Sarah Barnett said in a statement to Variety. “And now 10 years later — led by the brilliant Angela Kang and fueled by one of the most consistently talented casts in television — this phenomenon is flourishing creatively, with critics and audiences embracing its reset. We’re delighted to welcome back Lauren Cohan, she has meant so much to this show and its passionate, global fanbase, who are in for a fantastic ride over the coming months.”

Lauren starred on the ABC series Whiskey Cavalier after leaving The Walking Dead, but it was canceled after one season.

Fans of the new ABC series Whiskey Cavalier got their hopes up this week when it was reported that the show might be brought back from cancellation, but it’s not happening.

Showrunner David Hemingson took to Twitter on Friday afternoon (May 24) to reveal the show is officially not coming back.

“Friends: I just got the sad news that @ABCNetwork has passed. #WhiskeyCavalier has been fully and finally cancelled. Thank you all so, so much for your efforts on our behalf. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the outpouring of support,” he wrote.

David added, “It’s incredibly painful to say goodbye to this show and our extraordinary cast, but knowing that we made something you enjoyed – and that I believe will stand the test of time – makes it all worthwhile.”

Whiskey Cavalier fans can hold out hope for more episodes even though ABC canceled it recently!

The network is currently in talks with Warner Bros. Television to bring back the Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan series for a second season, according to Deadline.

The ratings for the show were never as strong as expected, despite ABC giving a strong promotional push.

“It was a tough decision, it was the last decision we made,” ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke said last week. “We thought we gave it very strong launch in spring. But we lost audience. We felt the biggest opportunity was to try something new. We looked for other time slots but did not see a real opportunity to grow.”

Lauren Cohan stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday (February 28) and dished all about her brand new series Whiskey Cavalier.

The 37-year-old actress stars in the new ABC series opposite Scott Foley, 46, who plays the title role, FBI agent Will Chase.

“Whiskey Cavalier is his spy name but really it’s Will Chase or WC,” Lauren explained to Jimmy. “I think it’s because I have an answer that I can’t tell or I don’t have an answer. It’s a secret.”

Scott‘s character gets a new assignment after a tough break-up with CIA operative Francesca ‘Frankie’ Townridge, played by Lauren, with the codename Fiery Tribune.

“Fiery Tribune, I think they thought just in case these spy’s are ever on television we should give them slightly flourished spy names,” Lauren added about her name – Watch the interview below!

Mark Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan, and Ronda Rousey team up to premiere their new movie Mile 22 at Westwood Village Theatre on Thursday (August 9) in Westwood, Calif.

They were joined by their castmates Sam Medina, Peter Berg, CL, Iko Uwais, Carlo Alban, and Nikolai Nikolaeff.

Ski racer Lindsey Vonn and her boyfriend, Nashville Predators NHL star P.K. Subban, also stepped out to show their support.

Mark Wahlberg is all smiles as he hits the red carpet at a photo call for his new movie 22 Mile on Saturday (July 28) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles.

The 47-year-old actor kept things in blue sweater and jeans as he was joined at the even by his co-star Ronda Rousey, Iko Uwais, Carlo Alban, and Lauren Cohan.

In the movie, Mark stars as James Silva, an operative of the CIA’s most highly-prized and least-understood unit. Aided by a top-secret tactical command team, Silva must retrieve and transport an asset who holds life-threatening information to Mile 22 for extraction before the enemy closes in.

Lauren Cohan is opening up about her contract negotiation on The Walking Dead.

The 36-year-old actress made an appearance on Andy Cohen Live on the SiriusXM channel Radio Andy on Wednesday (July 25).

“In a time of parity in our industry and in my show….it wasn’t actually that I was asking for more, it was that my contract finished,” she said.

“So, it’s a pretty standard negotiation. But it’s also sort of time for me to explore comedy and happier fare. So the good news, which is good for me and I hope good news for fans, is that my Walking Dead story is open. It’s not finished, and a very good mentor of mine said to me last year ‘Stop trying to decide, you’re just going to do all of it.’”

“I think that was a really nice thing, in life in general, to think about. We don’t close doors, we don’t break up with someone and forget about them and delete them from your life. Things transition into different places.”
