Lee Pace is sharing his thoughts on people calling him an “Intergalactic Emperor Daddy” thanks to his new role on the Apple TV+ series Foundation.
The 42-year-old actor made an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden earlier this week, during which he talked about the new series.
Lee said he plays “the emperor of the galaxy, which is an absurd idea. It takes place in the distant, distant future where mankind has moved off this planet and has spread out through the entire Milky Way galaxy and my emperor has cheated death and has held control over this vast territory by cloning himself. So at any given time, there’s me, the sitting emperor, the emperor in training, and then there’s the retired emperor.”

Apple TV+ has revealed the fate of Foundation, starring Lee Pace, and renewed the fantasy series for a second season.
Based on Isaac Asimov’s trilogy, Foundation chronicles the epic saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it.
The renewal comes just ahead of the fourth episode of season one, and still has six more episodes yet to air. New episodes drop every Friday on Apple TV+.
“We have been so excited to watch global audiences embrace the captivating, suspenseful and breathtaking thrill ride that is Foundation,” Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, shared. “We know how long fans of these beloved Asimov stories have waited to see his iconic work brought to life as a visually spectacular event series and now we can’t wait to showcase even more of the richly layered world, compelling storytelling and stunning world-building in season two.”
Also starring Jared Harris, Lou Llobell and Leah Harvey, the adaptation chronicles the stories of four crucial individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties, and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.
