Leonardo DiCaprio Rubs Shoulders with Royalty at a Gala to Save the Ocean

Leonardo DiCaprio poses for a photo with Prince Albert and Princess Charlene while attending the Inaugural Monte Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean on Thursday (September 28) at the Monaco Garnier Opera in Monaco.

The 42-year-old actor was honored at the event for his work to better the environment.

“As head of a state bordered by the sea, I have made ocean conservation a priority. It’s a key issue because it is a crucial concern for the future of mankind,” Prince Albert told Vogue in a statement. “It is time to stop taking our ocean for granted and to start looking after its precious resources.”

“Clean air, water, and a livable climate are inalienable human rights. And solving this crisis is not a question of politics, it is a question of our own survival,” Leo added.

Leo‘s friend Adrien Brody was also in attendance at the gala.

Leonardo DiCaprio Is Playing Theodore Roosevelt in a Martin Scorsese Biopic

Leonardo DiCaprio just landed a new role as former president Theodore Roosevelt.

The Paramount Pictures biopic, called Roosevelt, will be directed by Martin Scorsese.

The former president’s achievements in conservation are particularly of interest to Leo – whose own foundation is dedicated to environmental conservation, climate change, and indigenous rights – which is why he chose to play the part according to Deadline.

Leo and Marin previously worked together on several movies including The Wolf of Wall Street, The Departed and The Aviator, and are currently developing more films together, including The Devil in the White City and Killers of the Flower Moon.

Leonardo DiCaprio Joins Virtual Reality Company MindMaze as Investor & Advisor

Leonardo DiCaprio has taken on a new role – he is an investor and advisor for a virtual reality start-up company called MindMaze!

The Oscar-winning actor released a statement praising the company for impacting lives through its new technology.

MindMaze is the developer of a breakthrough computing platform (a MindOS™) powered by more than a decade of pioneering work in neuroscience, mixed reality and AI. By enabling real-time integration of signals from the brain with the environment through multiple technologies, MindMaze is bringing these innovations to market across multiple industries, including healthcare and now entertainment and media.

“MindMaze technology has already impacted the lives of many people, and it is poised to define the way we will experience and create content in the future,” Leo said. “I am excited about the possibilities of MindMaze’s technology, especially for its potential to be a driving force in media and entertainment in the years to come.”

Leonardo DiCaprio's Foundation Awards $20 Million in Environmental Grants

Leonardo DiCaprio‘s foundation is awarding $20 million in grants in his hope to make the world a more environmentally friendly place.

The $20 million will be spread across more than 100 organizations and it increases his foundation’s total direct financial impact to over $80 million since 1998.

“We are proud to support the work of over 100 organizations at home and abroad. These grantees are active on the ground, protecting our oceans, forests and endangered species for future generations – and tackling the urgent, existential challenges of climate change,” Leo said in a speech delivered to a climate change conference at Yale University on Tuesday (September 19).

Leo has called for urgent action to move to a world powered by renewable energy instead of relying on fossil fuels.

“There exist today many proven technologies in renewable energy, clean transportation, and sustainable agriculture, that we can begin a build a brighter future for all of us,” he said. “Our challenge is to find new ways to power our lives, employ millions of people and turn every individual into an advocate for clean air and drinkable water. We must demand that politicians accept climate science and make bold commitments before it is too late.”

Leonardo DiCaprio and his ex girlfriend Toni Garrn attended the same event last night after they were seen reuniting and holding hands earlier in the week.

The 42-year-old actor and 25-year-old model attended the Unitas Third Annual Gala Against Human Trafficking at Capitale on Tuesday (September 12) in New York City.
