Tim Allen is the original voice of Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story movies, but he was not involved in Lightyear, the spinoff movie starring Chris Evans in the title role.
Now, the 69-year-old actor is revealing the reason why he has not spoken publicly about the film. Tim is not involved in the production in any way.

Chris Evans is back in Boston!
The 41-year-old actor returned to his hometown where he made a surprise appearance at an early screening of his new Disney-Pixar movie Lightyear on Wednesday (June 15) at the AMC Theater in Boston, Mass.

Chris kept things cool and casual in a fitted, white shirt and olive-colored trousers while wearing a Boston Red Sox baseball hat as he chatted with fans at the screening.
Just two days before, Chris celebrated his 41st birthday at the Lightyear premiere in London!
In a recent interview, Chris blasted the homophobes that had an issue with the same-sex kiss in the upcoming movie.

Chris Evans is speaking out to slam the homophobic critics of his new movie Lightyear.
For those who don’t know already, there is a same-sex kiss in the movie. While the kiss was originally cut from the movie, Disney restored it in the wake of the backlash for how the company responded to Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
Chris has already reflected on the decision to restore the moment and now he’s slamming anyone who is criticizing it.

Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle actress Patricia Heaton is not happy with Disney/Pixar for casting Chris Evans and not Tim Allen in Lightyear.
If you don’t know, the film, being released on Friday, is the origin story of Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy. Tim originated the role of Buzz in the Toy Story films and Chris is voicing the Lightyear who inspired the toy line in the Pixar universe.

Lightyear is facing some backlash.
According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, the Toy Story spinoff will not be allowed to play in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates because of a same-sex kiss featured in the film.
