So many stars hit the pink carpet for the 2023 BET Awards tonight!

Ice Spice, Shameik Moore, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock lead the way with amazing looks and hairstyles for the event, held at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (June 25) in Los Angeles.

The trio were joined by Summer Walker and Lil Meech, Ari Fletcher, Coco Jones, Lil Uzi Vert, Soulja Boy, Eva Marcille, Bow Wow, and Porscha Coleman.

Ray J and Princess Love coupled up alongside Latto, GloRilla, Tyga, father and daughter duo Master P and Cymphonique, Abbott Elementary‘s Janelle James, Demi Singleton, Victoria Monet, Swizz Beatz, Lil Mama, T.I., Layzie Bone and Tiny Haylie.

The BET Awards “celebrates 50 years of hip hop and honors music artists, actors, athletes and more for their work, achievements and cultural impact.”

It has been over 12 years since the crazy moment when Lil Mama popped up on stage during Alicia Keys and Jay-Z‘s performance at the 2009 MTV VMAs… and Alicia is finally addressing the situation!

Alicia and Jay-Z performed their iconic song “Empire State of Mind” that year and at the end of the performance, Lil Mama got on stage and posed next to them during their final moment.

Lil Mama is doubling down after receiving backlash for transphobic comments.

Last week, the rapper responded to an interview between Dwayne Wade‘s daughter, Zaya Wade, and Michelle Obama with a tweet that read, “So children are too young to smoke cigarettes, too young to drink alcohol, too young to get a drivers license, too young to go to a club, too young to gamble, too young to rent a car, but old enough to cut off their genitals and/or ‘change’ their gender? [thinking emoji] This is insanity #America.”

She also tweeted, “DEPOPULATION AT ANY COST CAT FIGHTS SWORD FIGHTS Used be a cat now ima dog WHATEVER TO STOP NEW LIFE REPRODUCTION.”

Fans quickly condemned her transphobic comments and brought up additional remarks she had made as a guest judge on America’s Best Dance Crew, where she told trans contestant Leiomy Maldonado to stop “confusing” the viewers.

Lil Mama then responded to the backlash in an Instagram story, writing, “I’m about to start a heterosexual rights movement. Anti-LGBTQ Bullying.”

“Y’all fight so hard to be respected and SOME of you, NOT ALL,” she said, “get a kick out bullying people for having an option, how they dress, how their hair and or makeup looks, how much money they have, etc. There are so many people afraid to give their honest opion (sic) because if they do the LGBTQ+ will hear what they want to hear and take statements out of context.”

“I don’t have to prove myself by reminding people that I have loved ones of the LGBTQ+ Community,” she added. “When I speak I’m not trying to hurt anyone, I’m just speaking my truth, just like you all.”

Another celebrity recently defended Zaya Wade from transphobic comments.

The three talented ladies were joined at the event by Regina King, Insecure‘s Issa Rae, Monica, Brandy, H.E.R., Remy Ma, Lil Mama, Ari Lennox, India.Arie, Kiana Ledé, Skai Jackson and hostess of the evening, Niecy Nash.

The annual event honored Angela Bassett with the Icon Award, Regina King with the Star Power Award, Ciara with the Rock Star Award, Debra Martin Chase with the Shot Caller Award, H.E.R. with the Young Gifted and Black Award, and activists of The Mothers of The Movement with the Community Change Agent Award.

The Black Girls Rock Awards will premiere on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 8:00 P.M. ET/PT.

Queen Latifah, Cynthia Erivo and Ava DuVernay hit the red carpet in style while attending the 2018 Black Girls Rock! held at NJPAC on Sunday (August 26) in Newark, New Jersey.

The three ladies were joined at the event by Lena Waithe, Naturi Naughton, Misty Copeland, Angela Simmons, Lil Mama, Lloyd, Jazmine Sullivan and Seven Streeter.

Lena, Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson and Judith Jamison were also honored during the ceremony, which included a tribute to Aretha Franklin.

The show was hosted by Queen Latifah, and will air on BET on September 9.

Also in attendance were singers Lil Mama and LeToya Luckett, as well as the stars of The Real – Tamera Mowry, Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love, and Jeannie Mai – who won the award for Outstanding Talk Series. The four co-hosts also hosted the non-televised awards ceremony on Sunday night.

Lil Mama brought a bird cage to go with her dress while arriving at the 2017 MTV VMAs on Sunday (August 27) in Inglewood, Calif.

The 27-year-old rapper and actress was joined by Bebe Rexha, Chanel West Coast, and Christina Milian.

During the show, Fifth Harmony‘s Normani Kordei did the splits during their performance and Bebe had the best reaction. She also had an awesome reaction to Shawn Mendes performing. Check them out below!
