An Encanto sequel might be in the back of Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s mind, but it won’t be happening just yet.
In a new interview, the 42-year-old entertainer, who created the music for the movie, revealed that he has something else planned for Encanto before he even starts working on a sequel movie.

Camila Cabello steps out in a chic ivory dress for the 2022 Hispanic Federation Gala held at the Museum Of Natural History in New York City on Thursday night (April 28).
The 25-year-old “Psychofreak” singer hit the event next to Lin-Manuel Miranda, and his wife, Vanessa Nadal.
The gala is held to honor achievements and pays tribute to individuals and institutions working to inspire and uplift Latino communities nationwide.
Camila is being recognized with the Premio Orgullo prize. This is the highest distinction that the Hispanic Federation can bestow upon an individual and given to “Latinos who bring pride to the community and demonstrate excellence in their respective fields.”
Lin is a chair of the federation, and the gala raised more than $3 million, breaking a fundraising record.
Just recently, Camila opened up about her process of recording her new album, Mi Familia.

Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s “Dos Oruguitas” is one of the nominees for Best Original Song at the 2022 Academy Awards and you can listen to and read the lyrics for the song right here!
The song is one of the few all-Spanish songs in Encanto, and tells the story of two caterpillars growing to become butterflies and find their own future, representing the story of Mirabel’s grandparents.
Lin-Manuel Miranda, who considers himself a fan of Sebastián Yatra, pitched him with the opportunity to perform the track for the movie, and he immediately said yes. Sebastian will also be performing during the evening’s ceremony!

The beloved Encanto song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” will be performed at the Oscars this weekend, but it has no chance at winning the award for Best Original Song.
The song, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, has reigned at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for many weeks, becoming only the second song in Disney history to reach that peak on the chart.
While the track seemingly was a shoo-in for Best Original Song at the 2022 Oscars, the song has no chance at winning the award.

The stars are stepping out for the 2022 Producers Guild Awards!
Jamie Dornan and Andrew Garfield both looked handsome as they arrived at the awards event held on Saturday night (March 19) at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

Ariana DeBose is likely going to be an Oscar winner by the end of the month, so the offers coming her way will get better and better.
The 31-year-old West Side Story actress is already getting some great offers and she opened up in a new interview with her former Hamilton co-star Lin-Manuel Miranda.
“So I imagine the offers coming your way are pretty infinite and crazy. What’s the compass you’re finding in terms of it? Because a lot of it is saying no to the good, so you can say yes to the best,” Lin said to Ariana during their Vanity Fair chat.
