The official trailer for Netflix’s Extinction has arrived, and you can watch it right here!

The Ben Young-directed feature, which co-stars Michael Peña and Lizzy Caplan, hits the streaming service on July 27.

Extinction follows a working class father of the future, who faces recurring dreams of destruction by an unknown force. When his unwanted nightmares begin to affect his relationship with his family, he soon realizes they may be the key to a horrible reality, as a relentless alien attack begins to destroy the Earth. As the invaders’ assault progresses, he is forced to find both the strength to protect his family and an understanding of who he truly is.

Earlier this month it was announced that Lizzy will be starring alongside Octavia Spencer in the upcoming Apple series Are You Sleeping? – where she’ll be playing twin sisters.

The 35-year-old Masters of Sex actress has joined the cast of the upcoming series Are You Sleeping? after it was previously announced that the 46-year-old Oscar-winning actress will be playing the series lead.

The show is based on Kathleen Barber‘s novel of the same name and “explores people’s obsession with true-crime stories and the recent boom in podcasts dedicated to probing unsolved and disputed cases,” Variety reports.

Lizzy will be playing twin sisters Josie and Lanie – whose lives have taken very different paths.

Apple has ordered a 10-episode first season.

The movie and stage worlds of Mean Girls are colliding with Lizzy Caplan‘s visit to the Broadway musical!

The actress checked out a performance of the show on Friday night (May 25) at the August Wilson Theatre in New York City.

Lizzy, who played Janis Ian in the 2004 movie, met up backstage with Barrett Wilbert Weed, who is playing the role in the Broadway show. She also met up with other cast members, including Tony nominees Taylor Louderman and Ashley Park.

Lizzy Caplan is in talks to join the upcoming X-Men spinoff movie Gambit as the female lead!

It’s not yet known who Lizzy will play in the film, if the deal is pulled together, but she will star opposite Channing Tatum as the title character, according to Variety.

Gambit has the ability to charge matter with bio-kinetic energy and he uses playing cards and his long metal staff as his weapons.

The last time Gambit appeared on the big screen was in the 2009 movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He was played by Taylor Kitsch.

The 35-year-old Masters of Sex and Mean Girls actress and the 36-year-old Da Vinci’s Demons actor got married over the weekend during a romantic ceremony in Ravello, a town in Italy off the Amalfi coast.

A local Italian newspaper reported that there were a ton of famous stars in attendance, including James Marsden, Tom Hiddleston, Lily Collins, Chris Hemsworth, Dave Franco, Octavia Spencer, Dianna Agron, and more.
