Lucy Lawless Brings 'Spartacus' to Starz

Lucy Lawless arrives at Los Angeles’ LAX airport with sons Julius and Judah Tapert on Monday (January 4).

The 41-year-old actress held hands with Judah, 7, while Julius, 10, joked around with photographers and covered his face!

Lucy is currently working on her new Starz series Spartacus: Blood and Sand, which is being filmed in Auckland, New Zealand. Husband Robert Tapert, who was a producer on Xena: Warrior Princess, created the series. She stars as Lucretia, the sexy wife of a gladiator camp owner.

Spartacus premieres Friday, January 22 at 10/9c on Starz!

Lucy Lawless: Celebrity Duets

Fox claimed the top spot last night in the coveted 18 to 49 age group thanks  to Celebrity Duets.  But wasn’t it a snoozefest?  Did anyone else catch last night’s premiere?

I was really into it when the gorgeous Lucy Lawless (Xena: The Warrior Princess) kicked off the night singing to "Time, Love and Tenderness" in a duet with Michael Bolton.  But it was all down hill from there… performance after performance.  Watch the video of the Lucy and Michael duet below!  More pictures in the gallery!

Did you enjoy last night’s episode?  Will you be following this season of Celebrity Duets?

Unexpected Dreams CD Giveaway

The Unexpected Dreams: Songs from the Stars CD was released today, featuring some of my favorite actors lending their voice talents. Whenever actors sing (or try to sing), it completely intrigues me and this new album is no exception! It’s obviously not the best singing in the world, but it’s sure fun to listen to.  The CD features 14 spellbinding tunes by composers including Elton John, Billy Joel, Sade, Bob Dylan, and Lennon/McCartney, beautifully sung (well, sometimes) and lushly orchestrated.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit “Music Matters,” the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s music education programs.  Here’s the Unexpected Dreams tracklisting –

  • Scarlett Johansson – “Summertime” (George & Ira Gershwin)
  • Ewan McGregor – “The Sweetest Gift” (Sade)
  • Taraji P. Henson – “In My Daughter’s Eyes” (James T. Slater)
