Maggie Q hosts a special screening of her new film, Priest, on Thursday (May 12) at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood.

Earlier in the day, the 31-year-old actress taped an appearance on Conan, where she chatted about the thriller, her sexy PETA ad campaign, and tackling fight scenes in her CW show Nikita.

“What I’ve been doing on the show, I’ve been fighting these big dudes and the choreographer [and I] decided I should start climbing the guys, [who are like] 6’4″, 6’3″, 6’5″ and I climb up them like an insect and before they know what’s happening, I sort of have my legs around their neck and I’m choking them out my with my inner thighs,” she shared.

As for how she prepares for these scenes, “Believe it or not, all I do is yoga,” Maggie dished.

The CW has picked up One Tree Hill and Nikita for additional seasons of programming!

Also picked up for the upcoming season are Hart of Dixie, starring Rachel Bilson, and Ringer, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, TVLine reports.

The Secret Circle, starring Thomas Dekker and Life Unexpected alum Britt Robertson, was also picked up!

Hellcats, however, has been canceled after low ratings and will air its series finale TONIGHT (May 17) at 9/8c.

Maggie Q walked the red carpet at the MET Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 2) in New York City.

The 31-year-old Nikita actress wore a Tadashi Shoji dress to the glamorous event. She was invited by Lane Crawford.

The Costume Institute Gala Benefit celebrates the opening of the “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” exhibition, featuring the late designer’s iconic work.

The event is hosted by honorary chairs Salma Hayek, her husband Francois-Henri Pinault, and co-chairs Colin Firth, designer Stella McCartney and Vogue editor Anna Wintour. Special performance by Florence And The Machine!

Here’s what the 31-year-old Nikita star had to share:

On why she goes by Maggie Q: “People [in Asia] couldn’t pronounce my last name because it was too Irish. So the Apple Daily, the biggest newspaper in China, printed a story and referred to me as Maggie Q. Every other newspaper and magazine followed, and that was it.”

On learning that she’s the highest profile Asian actress to star in a broadcast drama series: “It was a mixed moment of ‘Wow! What? How come this hasn’t happened yet?’ But what really thrills me is that it’s going to be exciting for other people, for everyone after me. Once it was said, ‘They aren’t hiring minorities in this capacity.’ Guess what? Now they are.”

On considering Nikita to be a first-rate action show: “I think we’ve evolved in the genre since Buffy and Alias. I remember seeing bad wigs on doubles. Then they cut to a closeup, then there’s a wide shot and you know the actress is not doing it. When I fight, you’re right there in our faces, very Bourne. You expect that from that caliber [of film], so why wouldn’t you expect it on TV?”

Nikita star Maggie Q has joined Twitter!

“Holy crap guys,” the 31-year-old actress wrote as her first tweet. “[It's] me.”

Nikita co-star Melinda Clarke recently told EW that she thinks the show will be picked up for a second season!

“I think we’ve got some great fans out there, a good fan base. I know internationally people are really excited about it. We’re on the CW, and of course, that’s a smaller network as far as how many viewers. But we have some pretty intense and loyal fans,” Melinda said.

“So, I think it’s very likely that we’ll be picked up. I mean, anything can happen in this industry, but I think fans will get another season out of it,” she concluded.

Maggie Q hits The CW’s 2011 Winter TCA Party at The Langham Huntington Hotel on Friday (January 14) in Pasadena, Calif.

Earlier in the day, the 31-year-old actress spoke during the “Kick-Ass Women of The CW” panel during the TCA press tour with her Nikita co-star Lyndsy Fonseca.

“I think a guy who doesn’t like a tough chick is a loser. Man up,” Maggie told reporters.

At the CW bash, Maggie met up with fellow CW stars, Hellcats‘ Aly Michalka and Vampire Diaries‘ star Nina Dobrev.
