Marie Osmond Reveals If She Thinks Sharon Osbourne Owes Her An Apology

Marie Osmond is addressing rumors that she’s in a feud with her The Talk co-host Sharon Osbourne.

“Don’t believe anything you read,” Marie said on Watch What Happens Live. “Sharon and I are great friends. Everybody who sits at that table is a very strong woman. She’ll say things and I’ll go, uh, no. But that doesn’t mean we don’t like each other.”

When asked if she was owed an apology, she said, “No, she doesn’t owe me anything.”

“We’re very different and yet similar in ways,” she added. “We’re both strong women, I’ve been in this business, this is my sixth decade. I’ve been around.”

The rumors started a few weeks ago when Marie called the Coronavirus, “intriguing,” and Sharon responded that it was actually sad.

Marie said she used the wrong word and remarked, “I’m just like you, Sharon,” before Sharon responded, “You’re nothing like me.”

Marie Osmond Explains Why She's Not Leaving Any Money for Her Kids After She Dies

Marie Osmond says she plans on donating her fortune to charity when she passes away one day.

The 60-year-old singer thinks it will be a “disservice” to her children if she gives them her money after she dies.

“I’m not leaving any money to my children. Congratulations kids,” Marie said on the latest episode of The Talk.

“My husband and I decided, I think you do a great disservice to your children to just hand them a fortune because you take away the one most important gift you can give your children and that’s the ability to work,” Marie added. “You see it a lot in rich families, where the kids, they don’t know what to do and so they get in trouble. Let them be proud of what they make and I’m going to give mine to my charity.”

Marie has six kids from her marriages to Stephen Craig and Brian Blosil.

Marie Osmond Gets Candid About Traumatic Body-Shaming: 'I Would Starve Myself'

Marie Osmond is opening up about the pressure to be thin.

The 60-year-old singer recently explained that starting as a teenager, she would starve herself after being told to lose weight.

“From the time I started Donny & Marie, age 15, I did starvation. I would literally starve myself for three days before taping, drinking lemon water and cayenne pepper with maple syrup so I can be skinny,” Marie told Fox News.

She continued, “One day, I was taken out into a parking lot and one of the studio people told me that if I didn’t drop 10 pounds, they were going to cancel the show. They said I was an embarrassment to my family and I needed to keep the food out of my fat face…I was 103 pounds — I’d kill to be 103 pounds. So I got down to 93 pounds.”

“I never realized the mental abuse behind that. I went through other kinds, too. But those leave scars and traumas. I swear to you, every diet on the planet I tried,” Marie added.

Many years later, Marie decided to lose weight for medical reasons and did so in a healthy way.

“I was doing Dancing with the Stars and I thought 50 extra pounds in spandex is not a beautiful combination. I was ready. It took me about four months to lose 50 pounds. People assume I lost it on Dancing with the Stars but that’s not true. I started my journey before I did that show. And while I was doing Dancing with the Stars, Nutrisystem found me…And it was fantastic…It helped me get back to my healthier, happier self,” Marie concluded.

“I have never spoken about this before. So, my son who died, he was bullied. He was bullied very heavily up until the time he committed suicide because of his sobriety,” Marie said. “I’ve got the texts. I mean they are horrendous and I never took action against it. But, I can tell you, honestly, I believe that that was a big component in him just feeling overwhelmed and that he didn’t fit in. I never took action against the three kids. I know who they are. But maybe it’s not a bad idea to have some kind of consequence because it’s getting out of hand.”

Guest co-host Rumer Willis also shared, “I got bullied very, very badly in school when I was younger, very badly. And I truly don’t know what would have happened to me if I grew up right now. The issue is the systemic bullying, especially [on] social media.”
