Oscar-Winning Composer Marvin Hamlisch Dead at 68

Three time Oscar-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch has passed away at the age of 68 after a brief illness, a family spokesman told the Associated Press.

Mr. Hamlisch died on Monday (August 6) in Los Angeles. Other details are not being released.

Marvin picked up his three Oscars in 1974 for his work on both The Way We Were and The Sting. His work on the classic Broadway show A Chorus Line earned him a Pulitzer Prize. He also appeared as himself in the romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
