Social media has been ablaze this week with rumors that Taylor Swift is dating The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, though nothing is confirmed at this point.
The tabloid report claimed that they are “madly in love,” but fans have been laughing off the news and most aren’t believing it for now.
In the meantime, an interview that Matty gave back in 2016 has resurfaced as he made comments about why he wouldn’t want to date Taylor.

FKA twigs is getting support from her boyfriend Matt Healy amid her legal battle with ex Shia LaBeouf.
The 31-year-old The 1975 singer took to his Instagram on Sunday (December 13) to praise the 32-year-old singer.
Matt share a photo of FKA twigs smiling along with the caption, “legend icon loml [love of my life]” along with a bunch of emojis.
If you didn’t know, Matt and FKA twigs have been linked to each other since January 2020.
Matt‘s post comes a few days after FKA twigs filed a lawsuit claiming that Shia, 34, physically, emotionally and mentally abused her many times in their relationship that lasted less than a year. It also claims that he gave her a sexually transmitted disease.
After FKA twigs went public with her claims, Sia also came forward with claims against Shia, calling him a “pathological liar” and “conned” her into an “adulterous relationship.”

The 1975 lead singer Matty Healy has deactivated his account on Twitter after he received backlash for his tweet about the death of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement.
Floyd was a 46-year-old black man who was killed by Minneapolis cops while being arrested earlier this week. In a video that was taken by an eyewitness, he could be heard saying “I can’t breathe” while an officer kneeled on his neck for several minutes.
Matty went on Twitter and wrote, “If you truly believe that ‘ALL LIVES MATTER’ you need to stop facilitating the end of black ones.”
The tweet also included a link to The 1975‘s song “Love It If We Made It,” which begins with lyrics that say, “We’re f–king in a car, shooting heroin / Saying controversial things just for the hell of it / Selling melanin and then suffocate the black men / Start with misdemeanors and we’ll make a business out of them.”
Matty received a lot of backlash from people who feel that he used Floyd‘s death to promote his music.
Before deleting his account, Matty reportedly wrote this apology: “Sorry I did not link my song in that tweet to make it about me it’s just that the song is literally about this disgusting situation and speaks more eloquently than I can on Twitter.”

The band dropped their latest track, “Guys,” on Wednesday (May 13).

“I really love this song. It’s really, I don’t know. It’s really nice. It’s really quite earnest. It’s quite real. I don’t really look back very much either in that regard, like properly sentimentally. So it was nice to do that…I think I just wanted to write a love letter to friendship, as opposed to every love song being about our romantic relationships. I think that our friendships are obviously our most formative relationships. So shout out to the homies,” Matt Healy said of the song to Zane Lowe on Apple Music.
“The moment that we started a band was the best thing that ever happened and I wish that we could do it again,” he sings in the chorus.

The band dropped their new single, “If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know),” on Thursday (April 23).

The song is the latest from their upcoming record Notes on an Conditional Form, out on May 22.

The 32-year-old “Cellophane” musician and the 30-year-old The 1975 frontman are a couple, a source confirmed to People on Thursday (February 13).

The two were also seen getting close after the 2020 NME Awards on Wednesday (February 12) in London, England.
“Thank you NME for the awards and the chaos 🖤,” Matt captioned a photo of himself and twigs on his Instagram.
They were also seen together at 2020 RuPaul’s DragCon back in January, according to E! News.
