The stars are stepping out for The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala!

Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson along with Annette Bening and husband Warren Beatty stepped out for the event held on Saturday evening (September 25) at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.

Other stars in attendance included Meg Ryan, Cher, Italian actress Sophia Loren, Kumail Nanjiani and wife Emily V. Gordon, Star Wars director J.J. Abrams, Cry-Baby director John Waters, and musician Questlove.

Spike Lee also attended the event alongside wife Tonya, son Jackson, and daughter Satchel.

The event – which is being co-chaired by Ava DuVernay, Ryan Murphy, and Jason Blum – will be honoring Sophia and filmmaker Haile Gerima. Tom, Annette, and Bob Iger are also being recognized for their fundraising efforts for the museum.

The new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, which is located on the LACMA campus, will officially be open to the public starting on September 30.

Gwyneth Paltrow is opening up about the actors she once got starstruck with.

During her SiriusXM interview, the 48-year-old Goop founder revealed that she was awestruck over Meg Ryan and recalled working with her on Flesh and Bone.

“I was so starstruck around her,” Gwyneth admitted. “Like I could not, I felt like I couldn’t even be myself.”

She added that she was “so nervous around her and she had just had a baby. She was so nice.”

Gwyneth explained that even though she came from a famous Hollywood family (her parents are Bruce Paltrow and Blythe Danner), that “when Michael Douglas is at dinner or something, you’re a kid. You don’t know. That’s just your parents’ friend and then you grow into the idea that this is a big movie star.”

With Meg though, it was different for her.

“I had this reverence for Meg Ryan, or like Julia Roberts, you know, when I saw Pretty Woman, when I was a senior in high school. And in those women, I felt like illumination within myself,” she said. “Like, ‘Oh my God, this is what I want to be. They’re so brilliant and charming and funny, and they’re lighting up the world and that’s what I want to do.’”

“So it felt so personal to me, you know,” Gwyneth added. “When I first met Meg, I couldn’t believe it. But I always was starstruck by the people that really moved me.”

In the same interview, Gwyneth opened up about one thing that led her to give up acting.

The 57-year-old Sleepless in Seattle actress bundled up in a black puffer jacket, black hat, and sunglasses as she stepped out to do a little shopping.

It was revealed late last month that Meg and John Mellencamp had split up and ended their engagement after eight years of on and off dating.

“John and Meg have had a volatile relationship from the beginning,” a source recently shared with People. “They love each other, but there are disagreements which can become issues.”

After spending eight years on and off together, Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp have reportedly broken up and ended their engagement.

“She’d had enough and ended [their engagement],” a source told Us Weekly about the 57-year-old actress and 68-year-old musician. “She has no regrets.”

Meg just opened up about her love life not too long ago and said she hoped to get married soon.

Rumors first began to swirl that Meg and John had split when Meg was spotted without her engagement ring.

The couple first announced their engagement in November of 2018.

America Ferrera, Regina King, and Meg Ryan walk the red carpet at the 2019 Governors Awards on Sunday night (October 27) at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.

Also in attendance at the event were Nia Long, as well as the legendary Sophia Loren with her daughter-in-law Sasha Alexander. Regina was joined at the event Damon Lindelof, the executive producer of her new HBO series Watchmen.

The Governors Awards, which is organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, is the official start of awards season.

Constance Wu is helping celebrate women in film!

The 37-year-old actress stepped out for the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ Women’s Initiative luncheon on Wednesday afternoon (October 2) at the Rainbow Room in New York City.

She was also joined at the event by Cynthia Erivo, Meg Ryan, Greta Gerwig, Jennifer Nettles and Laura Dern.

During the event, Laura and Greta took to the stage to discuss their careers in the film industry.

The annual event, presented by E! and Swarovski, honors the Academy’s Women’s Initiative and its efforts to create opportunities for female filmmakers to connect, share their stories and celebrate inclusion.

Meg Ryan is opening up about finding love and her engagement to musician John Mellencamp.

The 57-year-old actress looked back at her life for a new feature in InStyle‘s 25th anniversary issue.

“In the interview for my most recent InStyle cover, in 2008, I said I had an inability to accept myself as lovable. That was harsh. I think it stemmed from starting over after my marriage ended,” Meg said. “Divorce is hard. I wasn’t easy on myself around then. I retreated. But that tough time was necessary. I became a better person after all of that. And I grew up a lot.”

After her divorce from Dennis Quaid, Meg eventually found love with John and they engaged last year, though they’re in no rush to get married.

“And today I’m happy too. Yes, I’m going to get married at some point. But for now this engagement thing is a state of grace,” she said.
