Check out the new trailer for Megan Mullally and Paul Iacono‘s new film G.B.F., provided for an exclusive premiere on JustJared.com!

GBF tells the story of two closeted best friends, Tanner (Michael J. Willett) and Brent (Iacono). Brent longs for the spotlight and has a plan that will make him the most popular kid in school. He believes that coming out will make him instantly popular, as the newest must-have teen girl “accessory”: The G.B.F. Tanner on the other hand, would rather fly under the radar and graduate from high school without ever being noticed. When things don’t go according to plan and Tanner is outed instead of Brent, the two boys go from B.F.F.s to instant frenemies and the three most popular girls in school — queen-of-mean bombshell Fawcett (Sasha Pieterse), drama club diva Caprice (Xosha Roquemore) and sweet, Mormon good-girl ‘Shley (Andrea Bowen) launch an all-out social war to win Tanner’s status-enhancing friendship. Meanwhile, Tanner must choose between skyrocketing popularity and the friends he is leaving behind.

The film also stars Evanna Lynch, JoJo, Natasha Lyonne, and Rebecca Gayheart. It will be premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 19, so make sure to check it out if you are in town!

Here’s the film’s synopsis: Social warfare erupts in a suburban high school when the school’s powerful “Clique Queens” (Sasha Pieterse, Andrea Bowen, Xosha Roquemore) try to turn Tanner (Michael J. Willett) and Brent (Iacono), 2 closeted gay teenagers, into the must-have social accessory of the year: The Gay Best Friend [“G.B.F.”]. As the girls fight for the edge to make them most popular, the boys deal with dysfunctional parents, down-low jocks and horny Mormons, culminating in a Prom that will blow the top off their town.

Principal photography on the flick wrapped earlier this month and the film is expected to be released in 2013. We can’t wait to check it out!

Megan Mullally Parties Down With Starz

Former Will & Grace star Megan Mullally will join the original comedy series Party Down, about a Los Angeles catering team full of Hollywood wannabes hoping for their big break.

Mullally, 50, will play Lydia Dunfree, a middle-aged refugee from a lousy marriage who leaves small town life to move to Hollywood where her 13-year-old daughter Escapade hopes to make it as an actress. While the younger endures the audition process, her naïve and eternally optimistic mother Lydia feels honored just to be among the show business “pros” of the Party Down catering company. Her search for Mr. Right only complicates matters for Lydia, but ups the laughs on the show.

Party Down will return with a second season in April 2010 on Starz.

Mullally also stars in the Fame reboot, which hits theaters Sept. 25.
