Winona Ryder Reacts To Mel Gibson's Claims That She Told Lies About His Hateful Comments Towards Her

Winona Ryder is speaking out again after Mel Gibson has denied saying derogatory remarks towards her and a friend at a party many years ago.

In her interview with The Sunday Times, the 48-year-old actress revealed that Mel had made anti-Semitic comments towards her and homophobic ones to a friend of hers, makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin.

“We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends,” she recalled. “And Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar, and we’re all talking and he said to my friend, who’s gay, ‘Oh wait, am I gonna get AIDS?’ And then something came up about Jews, and he said, ‘You’re not an oven dodger, are you?’”

Mel then said that Winona was lying about his remarks.

“This is 100% untrue. She lied about it over a decade ago, when she talked to the press, and she’s lying about it now,” his reps shared to press.

After hearing his reaction to the accusations, Winona is sticking by her story.

“I believe in redemption and forgiveness and hope that Mr. Gibson has found a healthy way to deal with his demons, but I am not one of them,” Winona shared with the NY Post. “Around 1996, my friend Kevyn Aucoin and I were on the receiving end of his hateful words. It is a painful and vivid memory for me.”

She added that “only by accepting responsibility for our behavior in this life, can we make amends and truly respect each other, and I wish him well on this lifelong journey.”

Mel Gibson's Rep Claims Winona Ryder Is 'Lying' About Anti-Semitic Statements

Mel Gibson‘s representative is slamming Winona Ryder‘s claim that he made anti-semitic and homophobic statements towards her and a friend at a party years ago.

“This is 100% untrue,” Mel‘s rep told TooFab. “She lied about it over a decade ago, when she talked to the press, and she’s lying about it now. Also, she lied about him trying to apologize to her back then. He did reach out to her, many years ago, to confront her about her lies and she refused to address it with him.”

Mel Gibson Will Not Be Back For 'Chicken Run 2'

Mel Gibson will not be back for Chicken Run 2, which was just announced by Netflix.

The Wrap is reporting that the 64-year-old actor, who voiced Rocky in the stop-motion movie, will not be asked back to reprise the character.

However, there’s no word on whether original stars Julia Sawalha, Phil Daniels, Imelda Staunton or Timothy Spall will be return either.

Chicken Run 2 will pick up the story of the chickens who pulled off an escape from Tweedy’s farm in the original film where Ginger has finally found her dream – a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world.

When she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, Ginger’s happy ending seems complete. But back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk — this time, they’re breaking in!

Earlier today, news broke that Mel had made anti-Semitic comments towards Winona Ryder.

Winona Ryder Accuses Mel Gibson of Making Anti-Semitic & Homophobic Statements

UPDATE: Mel has released an explosive statement in response to Winona’s allegations!

Winona Ryder is revealing a comment that Mel Gibson reportedly made to her about being Jewish.

“We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends, and Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar, and we’re all talking and he said to my friend, who’s gay, ‘Oh wait, am I gonna get AIDS?’ And then something came up about Jews, and he said, ‘You’re not an oven dodger, are you?’” Winona relayed to The Times.

“There are times when people have said, ‘Wait, you’re Jewish? But you’re so pretty,’” she added. “There was a movie that I was up for a long time ago, it was a period piece, and the studio head, who was Jewish, said I looked ‘too Jewish’ to be in a blue-blooded family.”

Apparently, Mel “tried” to apologize at a later date. Winona originally relayed this story back in a 2010 issue of GQ.

Winona recently defended one of her famous exes who is entangled in a legal battle.
