Leona Lewis & Emeli Sandé: Essence's Black Women in Music 2014

Leona Lewis and Emeli Sandé strike a pose while attending Essence Magazine’s Black Women in Music 2014 event held at 1 OAK on Wednesday (January 22) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The two ladies were joined at the event by Destiny’s Child‘s Michelle Williams, Kelis, X Factor‘s Melanie Amaro, Vivica A. Fox, Sevyn Streeter, and Chrisette Michele.

“I adore this freak!,” Leona shared on her Twitter account along with a pic of herself with a gal pal. “Funness at the @essencemag party :)”

Check out this first listen of X Factor winner Melanie Amaro‘s new song “Love Me Now”!

The song comes after the 20-year-old singer’s debut single “Don’t Fail Me Now” was released last month. Both of the songs will be featured on Melanie‘s upcoming album, due this fall.

'X Factor' Winner Melanie Amaro's First Single - Listen Now!

Check out the new song “Don’t Fail Me Now,” the first single from X Factor season one winner Melanie Amaro!

The 20-year-old singer’s song was produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and written by Livvi Franc. It will appear on her debut album slated for release this fall.

“I’ve walked the longest road, so don’t fail me now, feet don’t fail me now,” Melanie sings in the song.

Melanie won a $5 million recording contract with Epic Records head L.A. Reid as part of her prize from The X Factor.

Katharine McPhee & Melanie Amaro: NFL Honors!

Singing competition veterans Katharine McPhee and Melanie Amaro attend the NFL Honors and Pepsi Rookie Of The Year event held at Murat Theatre on Saturday (February 4) in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Earlier in the weekend, X Factor USA winner Melanie, 19, performed during the Pepsi Pre-Super Bowl Party at the Indiana State Museum.

Elton John & Melanie Amaro: Pepsi Super Bowl Commercial!

Check out Pepsi‘s full 60-second Super Bowl commercial with Elton John and X Factor USA winner Melanie Amaro!

The ad, titled “King’s Court,” features the 19-year-old singer performing a contemporized version of “Respect” before Elton, 64, gets banished into a dungeon where he’s greeted by Flavor Flav.

“Pepsi wanted to make me ‘King for a Day’ on Super Bowl Sunday. How could I possibly pass that up?” Elton said in a statement.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be starring in a Pepsi Super Bowl commercial, following in the footsteps of some of music’s biggest legends,” Melanie added. “Winning The X Factor has changed my life.”
