Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, Ann Curry, and Al Roker beatbox and sing as they cover Taio Cruz‘s song ‘Dynamite’ on the Today Show earlier this week.

Based on Mike Tompkins viral a capella cover, the Today Show crew wanted to see what it would take for a video to become a viral sensation for a special segment.

Mike was on hand helping the team of anchors as they recorded the soundtrack in a music studio and then later shot video behind a green screen.

Meredith Vieira raises her claws in the air as she dresses as Lady Gaga for the Halloween episode of The Today Show on Friday (October 29) in New York.

The 56-year-old host was joined by Tina Fey and Will Ferrell who dressed up as the characters from their animated flick Megamind, which opens in theaters on November 5th.

Meredith‘s co-hosts also joined in on the Halloween fun. Al Roker dressed as Superman, Ann Curry went as Amelia Earhart, and Natalie Morales channeled Justin Bieber!

Meredith Vieira opens up about a variety of topics in the November issue of Ladies’ Home Journal, which hit newsstands yesterday (October 13).

Here’s what the 56-year-old Today show co-host had to share with the magazine:

On if she’ll leave the Today show when her contract is up in 2011: “I’ll know when it’s time to go, and I’m not afraid to go. If I were to leave the show at the end of next year because it’s time for me, I wouldn’t jump into another show.”

On if her colleagues think botox might be a good idea for her: “They’ve probably thought it, but nobody has said it. When I came back from vacation, some people said, “Did you have work done? They looked so relieved. I told them, “No, I slept.”

On her husband’s [Richard Cohen] struggle with multiple sclerosis: “I feel cheated sometimes. We used to run together and go on ski trips or go to the beach. Now it’s very hard for Richard to stand. But we’re very lucky in what we do have.”

How she recently lost 10 pounds: She met with a nutritionist, who put her on a 28 day detox diet of no sugar, wheat, gluten, alcohol or caffeine. She also began a slow-burn exercise regime with heavy weights to build muscle and burn calories. “I started feeling better. I want to look healthy, be strong and feel good about myself.”

The hosts of The Today Show go all-out for Halloween – this year, they’re dressing as characters from Star Wars!

Hosts Meredith Vieira (Princess Leia), Matt Lauer (Luke Skywalker), Ann Curry (Darth Vader) and Al Roker (Hans Solo) got all dressed up for today’s episode and partied like it was 1977.

Joining them outside Studio 1A were Kathie Lee Gifford (C-3PO), Hoda Kotb (Yoda) and Natalie Morales (Queen Amidala).

Last year, the Today Show hosts dressed as characters from Mother Goose…upgrade!

Madonna made a surprise visit to The Today Show earlier this morning and addressed the Donald Trump-Rosie O’Donnell feud.

Not surprisingly, Madonna took Rosie‘s side, over the Trump‘s since the two have been good friends since they starred in 1992′s A League of Their Own.

Madonna told Today‘s Meredith Vieira: “People are giving Rosie a hard time. I wish they’d stop, I don’t think it’s fair. I don’t know exactly the context of what she said. I have to hear it from the horse’s mouth. She’s a standup comic. All standup comics talk about provocative things in their monologues before shows.”

But the real reason Madonna dropped by The Today Show was to drum up support for her new film, the animated feature Arthur and the Invisibles. Although it’s receiving horrendous reviews, Madonna provides the voice of the beautiful Princess Selenia. The film opens in theaters tomorrow.
