It appeared as if Michael Bolton fell asleep as he was about to begin a live interview, but now, the singer is speaking out and calling the story “fake news.”

“I got my first record deal when I was 15 and I haven’t slept since!! In all seriousness there were technical issues with the live feed and they caught me tweeting! We had a great interview once they fixed the glitch,” the 65-year-old singer wrote on his Instagram account along with the hashtag, “#FakeNews.”

You can check out the video of the incident on Page Six, where it really looks like he’s taking a snooze while on the air!

Michael Bolton is finding his inner “gangsta” on an upcoming episode of Lip Sync Battle!

The 65-year-old musician will take on Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson in this week’s episode of the show.

In a sneak peek from the show, Michael hilariously performs Coolio‘s “Gangsta’s Paradise.”

“Look out @petedavidson I’ve got u @lipsyncbattle,” Michael wrote on his Instagram.

Michael and Pete‘s episode is set to air on March 22nd at 10 PM on Paramount Network.

Usher, Josh Groban and other musicians are speaking out after politicians have been using music during their conventions without authorization and against their wishes.

The two performers, in addition to Cyndi Lauper, Sheryl Crow, Michael Bolton, John Mellencamp and Imagine Dragons, created a song called “Stop Using Our Songs” for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

“Don’t use our song, ’cause you use it wrong. It might seem appealing, but you’re just stealing…By the time this tune is through, you’ll be lucky if we don’t sue,” some of the lyrics read.
