Saturday Night Live is getting some heat on social media.

One joke in particular from Michael Che during Weekend Update on Saturday’s episode (February 29) drew some backlash from viewers.

During the segment, Michael and co-host Colin Jost spoke about coronavirus.

“[It’s] not because it’s too sad – it’s because I don’t know that I don’t have it yet and if I do have it, the internet is going to play this clip of me making fun of it over and over again,” Michael said of his reasoning for not joking about the disease.

“Imagine if there was a video of The Crocodile Hunter making fun of stingrays,” he added, with the audience audibly groaning at the joke.

Steve “Crocodile Hunter” Irwin died back in 2006 after being killed by a stingray while filming in Australia.

The show also tackled coronavirus during the cold open earlier in the episode.

Michael Che is once again under fire for a series of jokes after having just been met with backlash for his comments on Caitlyn Jenner.

The comedian addressed censorship during the “Weekend Update” segment of Saturday Night Live on Saturday (November 2).

During one story, about a woman who gave birth at age 67, he seemingly acknowledged the recent backlash by addressing NBC’s standards.

“The birth set a record for ‘Most Friction.’ See, you guys don’t realize this but that joke took me like four hours to write. I had much better punchlines but the fellas at NBC standards said they were all too dirty,” he told the crowd.

“Like, at first I was gonna say, ‘I hope that kid likes his milk chalky!’ But they said, ‘You can’t say that on TV.’ It was my second favorite punchline! My first favorite being, ‘She can breastfeed just by standing over the crib.’ That’s a pretty good one, right? But NBC said, “Too gross,’” he went on to say.

He then said a joke that would be “too gross” would be “if I said, ‘Doctors described the birth as pulling a penny out of a wad of gum. Now that is too gross. Even I wouldn’t tell that joke on TV.”

Once again, Michael‘s commentary was immediately met with backlash and criticism on social media.

Tiffany Haddish is gorgeous in a gown while hitting the red carpet at the 2019 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor held at The Kennedy Center on Sunday (October 27) in Washington, DC.

The 39-year-old actress was joined at the event by John Legend, SNL‘s Colin Jost and Michael Che, Chance the Rapper, Common, Aziz Ansari, Sarah Silverman, Chris Tucker, Morgan Freeman, Nancy Pelosi, Marlon Wayans, Kenan Thompson, Michelle Wolf, Jon Stewart and the man of the night himself, Dave Chappelle.

The award is considered the highest accolade in comedy and recognizes individuals who have had an impact on American society in the vein of 19th-century novelist and essayist Samuel Clemens, or pseudonym, Mark Twain.

“I love my art form because I understand every practitioner of it, whether I agree with them or not I know where they’re coming from. They want to be heard, they got something to say, there’s something they notice. They just want to be understood,” Dave said while accepting the award (via CNN). “I love this genre, it saved my life.”

FYI: Tiffany is wearing a Christian Siriano dress. Sarah is wearing a Miu Miu dress. Common is wearing a Sandro blazer and trousers.

SNL‘s Michael Che is making headlines for what he said about Caitlyn Jenner during the show’s Weekend Update skit about Kanye West.

“At first I thought Kanye was losing his mind, and now I feel like he’s fine, he’s just turning into an old white lady. I mean, he used to be one of the coolest black dudes on Earth. Now he’s showing up to events in sweatpants and orthopedic sneakers, listening to Kenny G and trying to get black people to like Trump. It’s like, how long before this guy changes his name to Kathy?” Michael said on the segment.

SNL then showed a photo of Caitlyn before she transitioned, and Michael referred to her as a “fella.”

“Now, you might think that I’m crazy, but about five years ago, there was a fella named Bruce Jenner, and he moved to Calabasas…” Michael said, before the segment ended.

Michael Che and Colin Jost interrupted Jimmy Fallon‘s monologue during last night’s (September 26) episode of The Tonight Show, and challenged him to a joke-off!

The Saturday Night Live head writers crashed Fallon‘s monologue after finding one of his jokes a bit too tame for their tastes. The trio battled it out over three different joke set-ups, coming up with punch lines off the cuff to see who could top the other.

They took on drinkable marijuana and Iggy Azalea‘s proposed twerk pit for her upcoming shows: “That’s insane, Iggy Azalea has upcoming shows?,” Michael joked.

Later in the show, Michael Che and Colin Jost hit the couch with Jimmy and talked about Woody Harrelson hosting the season premiere of SNL this weekend, Colin‘s engagement to Scarlett Johansson, and their humbling experience doing WrestleMania.

Michael Che is defending Kevin Hart after he stepped down from his 2019 Oscars following controversy and backlash caused by newly resurfaced homophobic tweets.

The 35-year-old comedian addressed Kevin‘s controversy during Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update segment on Saturday night (December 8).

“Well, that was short,” he said.

“Didn’t the Academy nominate Mel Gibson for an award just last year? Also, if Kevin Hart isn’t clean enough to host the Oscars then no black comic is. The only black comic I know that’s cleaner than Kevin Hart is booked for the next 3-10 years,” he said as a picture of Bill Cosby was shown.
