Cameron Diaz is reportedly in final negotiations to join the cast of Ridley Scott‘s new film The Counselor.

The 39-year-old actress would star opposite Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, and Penelope Cruz playing a character named Malkina, Deadline reports.

Michael Fassbender will be taking on the title role of “a respected lawyer who thinks he can dip a toe into the drug business without getting sucked down, which proves to be a life threatening decision.”

“The project has been described to me as No Country For Old Men on steroids,” the website adds.

The fashion editorial features the 35-year-old actor in an artistic reimagining of the utilitarian city wardrobe.

“Working with writers is what I really enjoy. Associating myself with great writers and trying to find them,” Michael told the mag.

As for his wardrobe, “I have three pairs of jeans I recycle,” he shared.

“My shopping sprees are sporadic,” he added, “and infrequent.”

“It’s @TOMS’ “One Day #WithoutShoes” today!” the 36-year-old actress tweeted the day before, along with a photo of herself barefoot. “Go barefoot-help raise awareness for the millions of kids who do so everyday!”

Angelina Jolie is in talks to play a small role in the upcoming Ridley Scott-directed film The Counselor.

The 36-year-old actress would star opposite Michael Fassbender, who is already set to play the lead role in the flick based on the Cormac McCarthy novel of the same name, according to Vulture.

The film follows “a lawyer (Fassbender) who wants to get just a little bit involved in the drug business. He then discovers that there’s no such thing as a little bit involved in the drug business.”

Twentieth Century Fox is currently in discussions to distribute and co-finance the flick.

FYI: Angie‘s partner Brad Pitt is also in talks for a minor role in the film as well!

Michael Fassbender holds his award with pride at the 2012 Jameson Empire Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday (March 25) in London, England.

The 34-year-old Shame actor won the Empire Hero Award! Congrats, Michael. Also joining him at the ceremony was Olivia Wilde (in Carolina Herrera) and Chace Crawford.

“Presented an Empire Award to my hero Gary Oldman tonight. And got a standing ovation! Unless that was for him. We’ll never know.” Olivia wrote on her Twitter account. Gary won Best Actor for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

The 34-year-old actor grabbed a cup of coffee and stopped to eat before he made his way to his departing gate.

Last week, Michael attended WonderCon 2012 to promote his upcoming movie, Prometheus. He and costar Charlize Theron and director Ridley Scott spent some time discussing the movie without giving away too many details.
