Daniel Radcliffe Recalls the Sort of Conversations He Had With Dumbledore Actor Michael Gambon

Daniel Radcliffe shared some of his memories from time on the Harry Potter set with the late Michael Gambon.

Playing the Boy Who Lived and Albus Dumbledore respectively means that Daniel and Michael spent a good amount of quality time together over the years.

As such, it’s not surprising that Daniel was one of the first Harry Potter stars to pay tribute to Michael after we learned that he passed away at the age of 82 last week. He had more to say during an appearance at Variety’s Business of Broadway Breakfast on Monday (October 2).

More specifically, Daniel looked back on the types of conversations that he had with Michael. Interestingly, they were different in a key way from the sort that their characters had.

Daniel Radcliffe & More 'Harry Potter' Stars Pay Tribute to Michael Gambon Following His Death

The cast of Harry Potter is mourning Michael Gambon, who died on Thursday (September 28).

Michael, who famously played Professor Albus Dumbledore in six out of the eight films, died at 82. He passed away peacefully in the hospital alongside his family after suffering from pneumonia.

Now, Daniel Radcliffe and more of Michael‘s costars are paying tribute to their talented late friend.

Dumbledore Actor Michael Gambon Dies, 'Harry Potter' Star Was 82

Michael Gambon, well known for playing Professor Albus Dumbledore in six of the eight Harry Potter movies, has sadly passed away at the age of 82.

He died “peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia,” a statement (via THR) read.

Another Actor Almost Played Albus Dumbledore After Richard Harris Passed Away

Richard Harris memorably played Albus Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – before passing away suddenly in October of 2002.

Now, the director of the first two films, Chris Columbus, is speaking out about another actor who almost replaced Richard before they cast Michael Gambon in the role. Michael went on to play Dumbledore in the remaining movies.

Charlie Cox, Michael Gambon, and Michael Caine team up for the world premiere of their new movie King of Thieves!

The co-stars stepped out for the event held at Vue West End on Wednesday (September 12) in London, England.
