The 30-year-old actor was joined by Michael Shannon, who stars in the Jeff Nichols-directed film.

Jake is currently wrapping up the filming of his new action flick End of Watch with America Ferrera and Michael Pena.

Last month, Jake and America were spotted sharing a laugh together as they left The Fat Radish restaurant after grabbing lunch.

Gerard Butler suits up for the premiere of his film Machine Gun Preacher held at Roy Thomson Hall on Sunday (September 11) in Toronto, Canada.

The 41-year-old Scottish actor was joined on the red carpet by his co-stars Michelle Monaghan and Michael Shannon for the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival premiere.

Michael Shannon will play General Zod, the lead villain in the upcoming film Superman: Man of Steel, according to THR.

The 35-year-old actor is best known for his Oscar-nominated role in Revolutionary Road, as well as his stint on the hit series Boardwalk Empire.

“Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role,” director Zack Snyder said.

Superman: Man of Steel will also star Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Martha and Jonathan Kent.
