Bidens, Obamas, & Clintons Attend 9/11 Commemoration Ceremony on 20th Anniversary

Our nation’s current and former leaders united this morning to commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, former President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama, former President Bill Clinton, and former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were among those in attendance at the ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum on Saturday (September 11) in New York City.

Joining them in the front row at the ceremony were former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his partner Diana Taylor, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

There were six moments of silence during the ceremony to mark the following: when each of the World Trader Center towers were struck, when each of the towers fell, when the Pentagon was attacked, and the crash of Flight 93.

Barack wrote a touching letter on his Instagram this morning.

Barack & Michelle Obama To Produce 'We The People' Animated Series For Netflix

Barack and Michelle Obama are re-teaming with Netflix for a new animated series.

The former President and First Lady of the United States are teaming up with creator Chris Nee for We The People, which is aimed to teach people all about how the government works.

Barack & Michelle Obama Mourn the Death of Their Dog Bo - Read Their Emotional Statements

Barack and Michelle Obama are mourning the death of their family’s beloved dog Bo, who just passed away at the age of 12.

The Obamas said in separate Instagram posts that they had to say goodbye to Bo on Saturday (May 8) after a battle with cancer.

Viola Davis Says It Was 'Temporary Insanity' That She Said Yes To Michelle Obama Role in 'The First Lady'

Viola Davis is opening up about her upcoming role as Michelle Obama in Showtime series, The First Lady.

The 55-year-old actress was cast as the wife of the 44th President in the upcoming show that is described as “a revelatory reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House.”

Previously, Michelle reacted to the news of Viola‘s casting, saying that she feels “that I’m not worthy…Anything Viola does, she does it with passion and vigor, and I know she will do no less for this role.”

During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Viola says that taking the role was part of “temporary insanity. I lost my damn mind for about five minutes, and I made a decision I can’t take back.”

Then, she also returned the praise Michelle gave to her.

“The woman is a damn goddess. Everybody knows her. Everybody feels like they want to protect her. Here’s the thing: I’m just going to do the best I can,” Viola adds, and revealed that she has spoken to Michelle for many hours about portraying her on screen.

“It’s terrifying,” Viola said. “Here’s the thing — Sometimes, someone doesn’t live up to whatever image you have of them in your head. But when they do live up to the image, it’s quite frightening.”

Michelle Obama Reacts to Viola Davis Playing Her in Upcoming 'The First Lady' Series

Viola Davis has Michelle Obama‘s stamp of approval!

In a new interview, the 57-year-old former First Lady shared her thoughts on the 55-year-old Oscar-winner playing her in the upcoming Showtime series The First Lady, gushing that that Viola “is the greatest.”

“I feel that I’m not worthy,” Michelle shared with Entertainment Tonight. “I wish I could be better to live up to the character that Viola has to play, but it’s exciting.”

Michelle added, “Anything Viola does, she does it with passion and vigor, and I know she will do no less for this role.”

Viola will be playing Michelle opposite O-T Fagbenle, who will be playing former President Barack Obama in the series.

Showtime describes The First Lady, which will be directed and executive produced by Susanne Bier, as “a revelatory reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House.”

“In the East Wing of the White House, many of history’s most impactful and world-changing decisions have been hidden from view, made by America’s charismatic, complex and dynamic First Ladies,” Showtime says. “This series will peel back the curtain on the personal and political lives of three unique, enigmatic women, tracing their journeys to Washington through an enlightening intimacy.”

Michelle Obama Responds to Jimmy Kimmel's 'Sick' Question About Her Sex Life

Jimmy Kimmel reminded former First Lady Michelle Obama of a question he asked her once while she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night (March 16).

“I asked you that on the night that SEAL Team Six took out Osama bin Laden at your husband’s order, did you and your husband make love that night to celebrate,” Jimmy reminded her about the question he asked about the al-Qaeda leader’s death back in 2011.

The former First Lady then responded, “You know, I have to tell your audience that for some very sick reason, you are very obsessed with this portion of that major, historical event in a way that no one else—no one, in the history of all the conversations I’ve had, has anybody drilled down on this particular point like you, Jimmy Kimmel. So I turn that back on you.”

She finally gave her response, which was, “I’m still pleading the fifth on that.”

Michelle Obama is taking a playful jab at Barack Obama.

The former First Lady made a virtual appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday (March 16).

During her appearance, Michelle spoke about having her kids back at home learning virtually, and Ellen found out if they’re playing beer pong to make it feel like college.

She also spoke about former President Obama, and how he feels about turning 60 years old. She also amusingly clarified why he’s been telling people she’s a competitive bike rider. Plus, she talked about how she felt at this year’s presidential inauguration and her thoughts on President Biden’s leadership.

The two also discussed her new Netflix series Waffles + Mochi, and her Pass the Love campaign with Partnership for a Healthier America, raising funds to distribute a million meals to families in need across the country.

Plus, she showed off some items around her house during a game of “Drawer Dash,” raising $50,000 for Partnership for a Healthier America thanks to Triscuit. She also revealed what she took from the White House, what she’s been making in quarantine, and something of former President Obama’s that she wishes she could throw away!

President Obama just participated in something with all the other living former presidents, except for one.
