This Is Us has been given a full season order at NBC and fans can look forward to 18 episodes of the drama for season one.
The series premiere was viewed by 13.53 total viewers and the second episode will air tonight at 10/9c.
“We are thrilled. This order for a complete first season of 18 episodes is exactly what we’d wanted and hoped for,” creator Dan Fogelman said in a statement (via Deadline). “We’d carefully mapped out an 18-chapter story for the first year of the show, and this allows us to follow through with our exact initial intent. And to get the order so early on is a tremendous show of confidence and a boost for our entire cast and crew.”
Mandy Moore is all smiles while posing with her co-stars Milo Ventimiglia and Sterling K. Brown at NBC’s Live screening and social gathering for the premiere episode of their new show This Is Us held at The Parlor on Tuesday (September 20) in West Hollywood, Calif.
“That’s the thing, it’s inclusive. That’s what I liked about the script and about the show and about the casting and everything—it’s inclusive,” Milo expressed (via E!). “A lot of shows try to be exclusive. They want that smaller narrow audience. They want to say you’ve got to understand comic books or superhero lore or an alien race is going to come down and kill us. To understand what our show is, it’s like, ‘Man, we all live life. We all have our ups, we all have our downs. We all experience it differently.’ So with that, we can all connect to a show that’s about an emerging family, a woman battling something that she has a problem with personally, a man connecting with a lost loved one, a young man struggling to find meaning in his work—I think that’s what’s so great about this show: It is for everyone. There is no separation between gender or race or age or weight, sexual preferences, anything, nothing. It’s human beings.”

Mandy recently opened up about moving past her divorce from Ryan Adams.
“My story deviated in a different direction than I expected,” Mandy told People. “But ultimately, life is about being happy and fulfilled and sometimes that means making hard choices. There are moments of being curled up in a ball on the floor. It’s really hard. But I’ve moved on and progressed in the stages of grief and being angry and feeling the loss and all that. I do believe things happen for a reason. And I think I had that mantra moving through the trying times.”
