Miranda Lambert on Male vs Female Country Radio Play: 'It's B.S.'

Miranda Lambert is on the cover of Redbook magazine’s November 2017 issue, on newsstands October 24!

Here’s what the country star had to share with the mag:

On her ideal evening: “Shark Tank and yoga pants, and I’m the happiest person. I watch Tiny House Nation on a Friday night, and I’m like, ‘This is it! Frozen pizza. Woo!’”

On the disparity of male vs female country singers on the radio: “It’s B.S., straight up! Carrie Underwood still struggles, and that just blows my mind because she’s got a million hits and she’s Carrie Freakin’ Underwood. I tell them at the radio stations, ‘Just play one of us; it doesn’t have to be me. Then we all win.’ I’ll fight for it until I can’t no more.”

On fame: “I’m not actually a very good famous person at all. I hate cameras. I don’t love the spotlight. It was a big shocker to me that the music business is 80% business and 20% music. I was like, ‘I didn’t know I signed up for all this other stuff.’”

Miranda Lambert Helps Rescue Over 100 Dogs From Hurricane Harvey

Miranda Lambert has been busy helping some of the smallest victims of Hurricane Harvey – the dogs and cats!

The 33-year-old country star and her organization MuttNation Foundation headed to Houston to help evacuate dogs and other animals in shelters.

Miranda and the team brought those dogs to shelters in other states, so the Texas shelters had space available for animals displaced by the hurricane. This way, the animals will be nearby when their owners come looking for them.

“Thank you to everyone for the support and prayers. We are so thankful to have been invited to help our furry friends in this time of sorrow. We will continue to do whatever we can to help. Continued prayers for Texas,” Miranda wrote on her Instagram.

For more information about how to help out MuttNation, head to their Instagram.

Miranda Lambert Explains Why She Doesn't Use Her Platform to Voice Personal Political Opinions

Miranda Lambert is looking good on the cover of Billboard‘s new issue!

Here’s what the 33-year-old entertainer had to share with the mag:

On not taking pain for granted: “I’m more known for my fiery personality and my confidence, but that’s not me all the time. I won’t look at things ever again in the same light, because different things in your life bring you to a deeper level with yourself. I won’t take pain for granted anymore.”

On not preaching her opinions on stage: “I am a 100 percent believer in not ever using the platform that I’ve built for anything other than music, because music to me is an escape from your own reality. I don’t want to go to a show and hear somebody preach about their opinions.”

On not speaking out about politics: “It’s so divided [in politics], you can’t win anyway — and what are you winning? For someone to agree with you, and now you’ve spoken your piece and pissed off many other people, just for one person to go, ‘She’s right’? It doesn’t do any good.”
