Garrett Hedlund and his girlfriend Kirsten Dunst are all dressed up while attending the premiere of his latest film Unbroken held at TCL Chinese Theatre on Monday (December 15) in Hollywood.

The 30-year-old actor was joined by his co-stars Miyavi and Jai Courtney.

Miyavi recently opened up about taking the role in the movie, which was directed by Angelina Jolie.

“I wasn’t sure I was going to do this until I met Angie in Tokyo. She said she wanted to make something meaningful and it could be a bridge between America, Japan and other countries in conflict. This story could happen anywhere,” Miyavi shared to the Yahoo.

The 37-year-old singer was joined by Jack O’Connell, Garrett Hedlund, Miyavi, and Finn Wittrock. The film’s director Angelina Jolie was not able to attend due to her bout of chicken pox.

At the event, Chris performed a few songs, including the one he wrote for the movie, and joked with Oscar voters after his first of three songs.

“You’re free to leave now. Put your vote in, whatever you want to do. Or don’t. I don’t give a f–k. I’s not going to affect my life one bit. But it would be lovely,” Chris said (via THR). “I know that’s not really what you’re supposed to say!”

Angelina Jolie and the stars of her film Unbroken – Jack O’Connell and Miyavi – sit down for an interview on the Today show on Tuesday (December 9) in New York City.

The 39-year-old actress and director will also be featured on a special tonight on NBC titled Angelina Jolie: Unbroken, where she discusses the film with Tom Brokaw.

“You do want to send a message with this film,” Tom said. “About values, and about a different time in our lives.”

“We are losing these men and women,” she said of the World War II generation. Their commitment to their community, their family, their faith – it’s extraordinary,” Angelina said.

The 39-year-old actress wasn’t the only one doing press for her new directed flick Unbroken, the stars of the film – Garrett Hedlund, Jack O’Connell, and Miyavi also stopped by Huffington Post on the same day.

“It was surprising how much she trusted me, all of us, on the set,” Miyavi shared. “She was so determined. I was also surprised how skinny she got. You know, she was not eating much. I felt so bad I was the only one who got fat during filming.” Watch the video below!

The 39-year-old actress and director was seen posing for photos with Jack O’Connell and Miyavi, who is a Japanese guitarist and singer making his acting debut.

Angelina Jolie has just cast Japanese singer and guitarist Miyavi as the villain in her upcoming highly anticipated film Unbroken!

The role – Mutsushiro Watanabe, also known as “The Bird” – is the guard who made it his mission to break the spirit of Lou Zamperini, and who haunted the athlete-turned-POW’s every step after he was captured in WWII, according to Deadline.

Production is set to begin in two weeks in Australia, and will be released on December 25, 2014.
