Broadway's Chilina Kennedy Debuts 'Prisoner' Music Video (Exclusive Premiere)

Chilina Kennedy takes a walk through New York City’s Riverside Park for a scene in her new “Prisoner” music video, premiering exclusively on

The Broadway star is coming off a major performance at the Kennedy Center Honors last month, where she performed for Carole King as the singer herself. Chilina currently plays the legendary entertainer in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and she MC’d the tribute, even getting to introduce Aretha Franklin to the stage. (FYI…Beautiful is celebrating two years on Broadway today!)

“‘Prisoner’ means something different to everyone who listens to it,” Chilina told in a statement. “The song is about falling in love with the wrong person and being stuck in a continual pattern of always making the same choices – ultimately being a prisoner of our uncontrollable emotions. I was inspired by Bravo’s Lost In Motion and had a vision of marrying dance with the story of a woman’s struggle to choose between two men. Choreographer Marc Kimelman had a unique approach to telling the story and so we collaborated with Zachary Maxwell Stertz and together brought ‘Prisoner’ to life on camera.”

The song “Prisoner” is featured on Chilina‘s debut album What You Find in a Bottle, available now!

David Bowie Released a New Video Two Days Before His Death

David Bowie released brand new music just two days before he passed away after a long and secret battle with cancer.

The video is for a song called “Lazarus” and it is featured on the late entertainer’s album Blackstar, which was released on Friday (January 8).

David is seen in a hospital bed with bandages over his eyes as the video opens and he starts the song by singing, “Look up here, I’m in heaven.”

“One could only dream about collaborating with a mind like that; let alone twice,” video director Johan Renck said in a statement. “Intuitive, playful, mysterious and profound… I have no desire to do any more videos knowing the process never ever gets as formidable and fulfilling as this was. I’ve basically touched the sun.”

JoJo Tackles Addiction With 'Save My Soul' Video - Watch Here!

JoJo sings out her frustrations in the desert in her new music video for “Save My Soul”.

The 25-year-old musician wrote with the video: “‘Save My Soul’ is about addiction. Of all kinds. I wanted to convey the feeling of powerlessness I’ve felt in my life in an uncomplicated way and show a range of what it might look like for others who’ve been there. Working with one of my best friends, Zelda Williams (director of SMS), was a highlight of my 2015. We’d been talking about working together for like 10 years! Because of the content of the song and the way it touched us both, “Save My Soul” felt like the natural place for us to finally collaborate.”

Zelda added, “To say the ‘Save My Soul’ video means a lot to me would be an understatement of stupendous proportions. It’s not just that Jo and I have been wanting to collaborate for most of the 10 years we’ve been friends, though that’s certainly an important part of it… nor is it the terrifying fact that this was my first turn getting to direct, an honor and responsibility I’m still shocked the ‘grownups’ let me do.”

“It’s not even our shared experiences with addiction and loved ones who suffered from them, though that is the very real inspiration behind this song and video…In the end, the thing I am most grateful for is the trust Jo had in me to help her tell a story I know has been percolating in her for a very, very long time.”
