Alicia Vikander is making her rounds for the promotional tour for her new film, Earthquake Bird!

The 31-year-old Oscar-winning actress stepped out in style to attend a photo call and press conference for Earthquake Bird at Roppongi Hills on Tuesday (October 29) in Tokyo, Japan.

Alicia Vikander was joined by her co-star Naoki Kobayashi, as well as writer and director Wash Westmoreland.

Here’s a plot summary: a psychologically unsettling and atmospheric thriller set in 1989 Tokyo from director Wash Westmoreland, Earthquake Bird follows Lucy Fly (Vikander), an enigmatic expat haunted by a painful past, who enters into an intense relationship with Teiji (Kobayashi), a handsome local photographer. Lucy’s imperturbable exterior begins to crack when a naive newcomer, Lily Bridges (Riley Keough), becomes entangled in their lives and ends up missing – suspected dead – Watch the trailer here!

Alicia Vikander is gorgeous a she steps out in a blue gown for the opening ceremony of the 2019 Tokyo International Film Festival held at Roppongi Hills on Monday (October 28) in Tokyo, Japan.

The 31-year-old Oscar-winning actress was joined at the event by her Earthquake Bird co-star Naoki Kobayashi, as well as writer and director Wash Westmoreland.

In the film, Alicia performs in English as well as Japanese: “I wish I could tell you that I knew Japanese and I learned it in three months,” she told Reuters at the premiere. “I mean I did an immense amount of work to be able to do the Japanese… and being bilingual I know you can’t just mimic words and sounds, you need to really know what you’re saying.”

“So I did everything from reading my scenes out loud in English and then we kind of reworked on translating them to really get the kind of sensitivity and the emotion and the subtext that I had in my acting, hopefully… It was a lot of work,” Alicia concluded.

Earthquake Bird is a new Netflix movie that will be released in theaters on November 1 and on the streaming service on November 15 – Watch the trailer here!

Alicia Vikander is all smiles on the red carpet for the Earthquake Bird world premiere during the 2019 BFI London Film Festival on Thursday (October 10) at the Vue West End in London, England.

The 31-year-old Oscar-winning actress was joined at the event by co-stars Jack Huston and Naoki Kobayashi, writer and director Wash Westmoreland, executive producer Ridley Scott, and the novel’s author Susanna Jones.

Earthquake Bird is a new Netflix movie that will be released in theaters on November 1 and on the streaming service on November 15.
