Neil Armstrong: First Man On The Moon Dead

Neil Armstrong, the first man on the Moon has died.

The U.S. astronaut and commander of the Apollo 11 spacecraft was 82-years-old.

Earlier this month he had surgery to relieve blocked coronary arteries.

Neil set foot on the Moon on 20 July, 1969, and famously described the event as “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Along with fellow astronaut Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin, the duo spent over two hours walking on the moon together.

Last November, Neil and three other astronauts received the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest U.S. civilian award.

Our deepest condolences go out to Neil‘s friends and family during this difficult time.
