Nelly is speaking out after being arrested for allegedly raping a woman early Saturday morning.

After being released from jail, the 42-year-old rapper took to Twitter to address the allegations made against him.

“Let me say that I am beyond shocked that I have been targeted with this false allegation. I am completely innocent. I am confident that once the facts are looked at , it will be very clear that I am the victim of a false allegation,” Nelly wrote.

Nelly‘s lawyer recently told JustJared.com that the allegations are completely “fabricated.”

“I also want to thank my fans for their unwavering support. They know me. I assure you I will be vindicated. And I assure you, I will pursue every legal option to address this defaming claim. Thank you,” Nelly also tweeted.

Nelly‘s lawyer is responding to the allegations that the rapper raped a woman on his tour bus in Washington state.

The 42-year-old rapper was arrested on early Saturday morning (October 7) following the accusations.

“Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation,” Nelly‘s lawyer told JustJared.com in a statement. “Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges.

“Nelly is prepared to pursue all all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation,” the statement concluded.

Nelly was in town for his tour with Florida Georgia Line.

Nelly has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman.

The alleged incident happened at around 3:45am PST on early Saturday morning (October 7) in Washington state.

Nelly is in town for his tour with his “Cruise” collaborators Florida Georgia Line and the woman says it was specifically the rapper who raped her, according to TMZ.

Nelly was booked at around 7am on second degree rape charges and he’s reportedly still in custody.

One thing that Nelly will never be able to live down is the moment in his “Dilemma” video in which Kelly Rowland sends a text message using Excel spreadsheet.

The 42-year-old rapper was asked to comment on why she texts that way in the video during an appearance on Australia’s The Project.

“I noticed in the video she is trying to text you using Excel spreadsheet,” one of the hosts says.

“You know, that was the thing at the time!” Nelly said. “That was the new technology at the time! It looks a little dated now, yeah. I can see it.”

Kelly Rowland joins Nelly on stage while performing at Drai’s Beach Club at The Cromwell Las Vegas on Saturday (November 5) in Las Vegas.

The 35-yeaar-old singer recently opened up about appearing on Solange‘s No. 1 album A Seat at the Table.

“It was literally a spur-of-the-moment call. [Solange] is so creative, so genius,” Kelly told Refinery29.com. “When I got to the studio, she told me exactly what I was singing, and I had a blast. It happened so fast!…We just sat there and had fun. Solange actually wrote on my first [solo album] Simply Deep, so I was the first person to get a Solange special. I believed in her then, and I believe in her now. I am so glad that the world is getting an introduction to the authentic Solange.”

Taylor Swift had quite the duet partner at their mutual friend Mike Hess‘s birthday party on Saturday night (August 6) in the Hamptons, N.Y.

The 26-year-old singer attended the party with her pal Karlie Kloss and joined Nelly on stage to sing his hit “Dilemma” as she belted out Kelly Rowland‘s parts.
