Mindy Kaling and Rosario Dawson show off their purple shirts at the PanCAN PurpleStride: The Ultimate Event to End Pancreatic Cancer held at the Los Angeles Zoo on Saturday (April 30) in Los Angeles.

The two actors were joined by Alex Trebek‘s daughter Nicky and his widow, Jean, as well as former Jeopardy! champion Brad Rutter at the event, which raises awareness and research funds for pancreatic cancer.

The Los Angeles PurpleStride walk coordinated with nearly 60 other communities across the nation for one nationally synchronized PanCAN PurpleStride event.

The LA event started early at 7 a.m. at the Los Angeles Zoo with nearly 60,000 attending to show support and help raise awareness.

The walk also reached an ambitious goal of $16.5 million to fuel PanCAN’s mission to create a world in which all pancreatic cancer patients will thrive.

Alex Trebek‘s daughter Nicky Trebek is opening up about how she hasn’t watched an episode of Jeopardy! since her dad passed away late last year.

Nicky, who once worked on the show in production, opened up on CBS This Morning about her decision not to tune in.

“I have not watched, I have not watched one, my family haven’t watched any at all,” Nicky shared, speaking of her step siblings Emily and Matthew, and their mother, Jean.

She also shared that she ended her run on the show just days “after he passed before Thanksgiving.”

“To me it was his show. It was his show and it’s difficult for me to carry on in this show.”

Nicky also spoke on the program about continuing to work in the battle against pancreatic cancer.

Currently, Mehmet Oz, aka Dr. Oz, is the guest host on Jeopardy! and he hasn’t received a warm welcome from fans.
