Nicola Peltz is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of The Deep Blue Good-by.
The 20-year-old actress landed a starring role in the movie based on John D. MacDonald‘s mystery-adventure books. She is joining a star-studded cast that includes Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike, and Peter Dinklage.
Directed by James Mangold, the film follows Travis McGee, an Afghan war vet who sets out to locate a WWII treasure.
Nicola beat out several young actresses for the role of “a teenage girl in need of McGee’s help when her father goes missing in the film,” according to Variety. This is bound to be a breakout moment for her after getting buzz from her work in Transformers: Age of Extinction and Bates Motel.
Deep Blue Good-by is set to begin production in May in both Puerto Rico and Florida.
