Olivia Cooke Hints At Growing Tensions Between 'House of the Dragon' Characters

The 28-year-old Ready Player One actress stopped by the late-night show as she is prepping to take over the role of Alicent Hightower from Emily Carey on HBO’s House of the Dragon.

There’s a time jump coming that explains the switch-up in actors. And during her appearance on the show, Olivia shared a teaser about what that means for one relationship we’ve seen play out over the last few episodes.

Two Lead Actresses on 'House of the Dragon' Were Not Seen in Episode One

The first episode of House of the Dragon is now streaming on HBO Max and fans might have been surprised to find out that two lead actresses were not seen in the premiere.

The events of episode one happen in 112 AC and it appears the next episode will likely fast forward to a year in the future.

While two of the lead stars weren’t seen in episode one, we actually did hear a voiceover from one of them!

Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke & More Bring 'House of the Dragon' To London

The stars of House of the Dragon have hit the red carpet!

Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy stepped out for the premiere of their new HBO series at Leicester Square on Monday (August 15) in London, England, and joined a ton of their co-stars for the debut event.

Paddy Considine, Rhys Ifans, Sonoya Mizuno, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Emily Carey, and Milly Alcock followed the trio on the carpet.

Other stars from the show that were at the premiere included Fabien Frankel, Bill Paterson, Matthew Needham, Gavin McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Harvey Sadler, Evie Allen, Leo Hart, Eva Ossei-Gerning, Shani Smethurst and Leo Ashton.

House of the Dragon is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen.

The prequel series to will premiere on August 21 on HBO. Watch the trailer now!

Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, & More Attend 'House of the Dragon' Premiere in Amsterdam!

The new HBO series House of the Dragon is premiering this month and the cast is continuing to promote the show around the world!

Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, and more stars from the show were in attendance during another red carpet premiere on Thursday (August 11) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Also in attendance at the event were Emma D’Arcy, Emily Carey, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Milly Alcock, and Alexis Raben, as well as series creator Ryan J. Condal.

Some of the stars also appeared at a photo call earlier in the day, which you can see in the gallery.

House of The Dragon, a prequel to the smash hit series Game of Thrones, will debut on Sunday, August 21, and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

'House of the Dragon' Cast Attend World Premiere - See the Photos!

The cast of House Of The Dragon walked the red carpet at the world premiere of their upcoming show at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Wednesday evening (July 27) in Los Angeles.

In attendance were Olivia Cooke (left), Matt Smith (center), and Emily Carey (right).

Also in attendance were co-stars Rhys Ifans, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Milly Alcock, Emma D’Arcy, Paddy Considine, and Gavin Spokes.

House of the Dragon is a prequel series to Game of Thrones.

House of The Dragon will debut on Sunday, August 21, and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

George R. R. Martin Didn't Meet 'House of The Dragon' Cast Until Comic-Con!

The cast of House of The Dragon gather for one very large group photo at 2022 Comic Con held at San Diego Convention Center over the weekend in San Diego, Calif.

Fabien Frankel, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Paddy Considine, Milly Alcock, Emily Carey, and Ryan J. Condal were joined by author George R.R. Martin for the panel discussion about the upcoming HBO series.

During the panel, it was revealed that George hadn’t met any of the stars of the series until this weekend.

According to Variety, he had been “very careful to keep himself very socially distanced during the COVID-19 pandemic”, so he has been at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico for most of the duration of it.

Emma and Milly, who play young and old versions of Princess Rhaenyra, and Olivia and Emily, who are the younger and older versions of Lady Alicent Hightower, also revealed that they developed the characters separately.

House of The Dragon will debut on Sunday, August 21, and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
